What is this - painful lump inner thigh??

Hello was hoping someone might know what this is - I keep getting them at top of inner thighs and around pubic area. Have three at the moment - they’re not very painful but super unsightly which is not ideal for taking the kids swimming. Bit embarrassed to go to the doc. Any wise words would be much appreciated.

Is is not an ingrown hair? Pop it and see what comes out 😁

It looks like a normal spot. Id try sitting in a hot bath or putting a warm compress on it for a bit then try squeezing it

Spot, caused by a hair. Scratch the top off and it'll pop.

What are you doing when swimming with the kids that people will see this??. Chlorine will help dry it out.

I would have said hidradenitis supparativa except that's usually VERY painful.

I was going to say hidradenitis supparativa too. Does it get worse at hormonal times of the month?

I was diagnosed with it in November, and now I know what it is I've taken a number of lifestyle changes which has resulted in my flare ups being about 20% of what they were.

Oh god I get these too! Only ever around the top of my thighs or groin area.

Mine only started after I started my new office job. I’m putting it down to spending all day sitting with my (chunky) thighs getting hot. I used to work in retail so was always moving around.

Do you shave your pubes or wear knickers that rub?? It’s just a spot caused by irritation or an ingrown hair, but there should be a reason if you’re getting them regularly

Just a spot but very reassured!! I do sit down a lot
For work and knickers rub so probably that.

I've changed what underwear I buy, because anything with a lace trim causes irritation and sores.

I've seen a dermatologist who isn't sure whether it is HS or folliculitis. I have been on ABs since last May so I would have thought folliculitis would be gone by now.

Interested to hear how I might be able to stop it getting worse

Hey could anyone please tell me what this is, I just noticed it on my inner thigh.

They are cysts. I get them alot on my right upper thigh. Mine can get quite painful.

The best thing would be to seek a doctor but you can try to bring down the cyst using warm compression like a warm wet flannel.
