So many questions!

What is going on here?
Why are the blackheads in a line?
Why is there so much gunk under this area?
.
For me the most urgent is…”Why didn’t the Popper start at one end and work their way to the other?”

Does anyone have any answers?

That was a carbuncle!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/11/2021 00:03

My poor dad had one of those minus the blackheads That squeezing technique is the only way to get it all out as it's all interconnected under the skin. I was staying with him at the time and I had to do it every day and every day more and more came out,it was unbelievable. I scrubbed up like a surgeon though and wore gloves and covered it with lint free dressing .

Apparently you should never squeeze them as it's a staph infection which can get really nasty, really quickly. Didn't know that at the time!

It was fantastic, he is a proper sporner and we really bonded over it Grin

He was actually ill with something else at the time and I wonder if it was because his immune system was low. He said it was a bit uncomfortable but didn't bother him that much.

The GP,when they finally saw it, commented on the fact that whoever saw to it had done a very good job

@lunar1

I have no answers, but this is the most frustrating popping technique ever!
That was my thoughts too

Thank you!

That kind of constellation of blackheads is usually a kind of birthmark called a sebaceous nevus. You can keep squeezing them, but they always come back. You see little kids with them too, unfortunately. It’s probably all gross and inflamed because it’s under her hair.

EvilPea · 26/11/2021 21:59

That must be so sore. Those flying ones! Shock

I think the redness and swelling needs to go down before attacking the black heads a few days later

AndStand · 26/11/2021 23:40

It's a condition called nevus comedonicus.

Palavah · 29/11/2021 20:55

Cannot fathom why they didn't tie that bit of hair back! Was driving me mad?

Clarabellawilliamson · 30/11/2021 20:40

Reading this thread and googling different types of Nevus helped me to correctly guess an only connect connections round after only two clues.....my husband was baffled that I knew so much about moles 🤣

Nsky · 21/12/2021 21:11
