DHs ingrowing hair

It’s on his back and is a big solid lump (around 50p size- a bit bigger). There is a little pinprick opening in the middle and he’s asking me to squeeze it as it’s causing him pain. When I do a little firm white pus comes out then some runny yellowy brown pus follows- then some more white, then more yellow.

Do I keep squeezing or just insist he visits the doctor?

Squeeze while recording yourself of course!

SW1amp · 11/11/2021 19:24

Keep squeezing
While filming

KittenCatcher · 11/11/2021 19:26

Maybe put cotton wool soaked in hot water on it instead to try and draw it out

CrumbsThatsQuick · 11/11/2021 19:28

Ermmm.... is this a trick question?

IncompleteSenten · 11/11/2021 19:29

Step 1 wash your hands

Step 2 take pictures.
Step 3 upload said pictures here
Step 4 get someone to video it while you squeeze the hell out of it
Step 5 upload said video to here.

Placemarking for photos

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/11/2021 19:37

Hot compress and film away

picklemewalnuts · 11/11/2021 19:39

Use a needle (sterilised) to hook a bit of hair out. Once it's out enough to get with a tweezers, pull it out gently. The whole hair will come, with some pus and gunk you can squeeze too!

Grabmygran · 11/11/2021 20:25

He won’t let me record it! Spoilsport!

I can’t actually see the hair- should I still poke around with a needle?

He won’t let you film it ? That’s grounds for divorce!

Vapeyvapevape · 11/11/2021 20:28

Make him lie flat on his front, he won’t be able to see you filming it or take a quick photo.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/11/2021 21:06

Are you sure there is a hair?

Branleuse · 11/11/2021 21:07

Yes keep squeezing and also get a pin to release the hair. Maybe some tweezers too

Dozer · 11/11/2021 21:08
Grin

Would squeeze squeeze and not bother about seeking the hair initially!

Pumpkinsonparade · 11/11/2021 21:08

Surely you have some wiley ways to persuade him op?
Wink

3luckystars · 11/11/2021 21:10

Get a tweezers and don’t stop till you get enough!!

I find pulling apart gets a better result the squeezing. Take a photo!!

Rainbowheart1 · 11/11/2021 21:14

Disgusting!! I know people love this stuff and watch videos of things like this but it makes me close to actually vomiting.

Spots and puss has got to be like marmite!

Is it defiantly a I grown hair and not a boil? Boils have to be lanced I think because they have a root?

LeroyJenkinssss · 11/11/2021 21:16

Genuinely are you sure there’s a hair in there or is it an infected cyst?

sofakingcool · 11/11/2021 21:18

Does he not know the rules? ConfusedGrin
picklemewalnuts · 11/11/2021 21:19

Definitely try to get the hair. Watch Enilsa. She hooks 'em out.

Longdistance · 11/11/2021 21:24

What fresh hell is this? I’m disgusted that there are no pictures! Come on, first rule of Sporners Corner, picture or it didn’t happen.

Veryhungrycaterpillar84 · 11/11/2021 21:36

Sounds like a sebaceous cyst, there won’t be a hair in that case.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 11/11/2021 21:37

This thread is worthless without pictures.

DeliaOwens · 11/11/2021 21:45

OP-Are you certain it's an ingrown hair?
If it is a sebaceous or epidermoid cyst, do not attempt to pop it as it might cause a worse problem with an infection. Use a hot (as hot as he can tolerate) flannel to see if it naturally 'pops' and drains. You may have to replace the cloth/flannel a few times. It's a safer plan and less likely to scar.
