How to remove milia from upper eyelid

Hello fellow sporners!
How exciting to have a space dedicated to this. Nothing like squeezing a zit.
Any tips on how to safely remove an ugly milia spot on my upper eyelid? Tried scratching it off but it’s quite hard.

They basically need to be cut open to remove.

I've squeezed one before.. Hot compress as hot as you csn bear and squeeze.
It looks ripe to come out.

Milomonster · 09/08/2021 21:56

I think the head needs to be scratched off. Looks ripe indeed. I squeezed it hard in the hope it would pop but it sort of squashed and spread under the skin. No chance of removing it now.

I dont recommend use of a sharp item close to your eyeball, but i used a scalpel blade to nick it and then squeezed it out. Hasn't come back over a year later.

I’ve had them removed by electrolysis

If it’s what I had what will come out is a ball of white stuff. Like a soft ball. I had my first one removed at a Beauty clinic as it was near tear duct. The second one I broke skin with clean needle and squeezed it out. It hurts more than a normal spot but healed quickly.

I used a scalpel to nick mine then used the end of a hair grip/Kirby grip to press it to squeeze.
Bloody sore but it didn’t come back.

I used a needle for mine and it was pretty much in the same place.

My DP stuck a disinfected needle in mine abbé then used a tweezer to get stuff out. He was so great at it and it was fine the next day. I think he should charge for his services!

You can get EMLA cream for tattoos to numb it. And then you'll have to cut the skin with something to pop it out from behind. Be really careful to keep everything sterile. I've done a few and never had any problems.

Hot compress and a needle works nearly everytime for me but I would be very wary doing that on your eyelid .

SoddingWeddings · 10/08/2021 21:47

I use a needle to get mine - pierce the skin, pop it out. Probably not my best idea tbh....

userxx · 10/08/2021 22:20

I get them removed at a salon when I have a facial.

Pinkywoo · 24/08/2021 21:25

I had one in the same place and used a needle, couple of pokes and a hard white ball popped out.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/09/2021 14:25

Every day use a rough flannel after a hot compress , it'll come out easily will just take time.

Driftingblue · 09/09/2021 23:05

I slice and dice at home pretty liberally. So liberally that I keep sterile single use scalpels and other necessary equipment around to handle things safely.

I wouldn’t touch that. As far as I am concerned eyes are off limits for DIY as there is just too much that can go wrong.
