Any idea what this could be and how to get rid of it? It's on his neck, I thought it could be an ingrown hair but can't see one. There seem to be a lot under the surface too...

Oooh I'd lance that!

(Sterilised of course)

partyatthepalace · 05/06/2021 23:41

It looks like boil - I think if there are others under the surface it's a carbuncle (?? - google it) - anyway DON'T try and lance it ,you could spread the infection deeper. Give you GP practice a bell on Monday, if it doesn't start going down they will likely give him a course of antibiotics.

Ooh, you need Dr Pimple Popper!!

Hyacinth88 · 06/06/2021 00:05

Sebaceous cyst perhaps

Yes. Don't risk spreading infection into the deep tissues of the throat.

Normally I say coo, get a needle in that but as pp say, nope don't do that, consult your GP, it may need lancing or antibiotics.

Other posters are right, of course, op!

Other posters are of course right but rubs hands

Northernlurker · 06/06/2021 09:54

This needs a gp. It's probably a cyst but could be a lymph node and require proper medical examination.

HappydaysArehere · 06/06/2021 10:11

Agree it’s a job for the GP before doing anything yourself.

hauntedvagina · 06/06/2021 11:10

Thanks all, it looks like it's gone down a little today but will not hesitate to call the GP.

That's good but don't muck around, it needs a medical eye.
