OK so I had a fall, most of the impact was on knees / shins and hands but when I got up I realised I had a long cut.

There is no blood where I fell and I didn't fall on anything like glass.

The only thing I can think of is that I did have a cat scratch and somehow the fall opened it.

Anyway here's a couple of pics, yesterday and today, any suggestions as to what it is? Or what happened?

BTW it didn't hurt at the time, I only noticed blood on my hand and it still doesn't hurt. Yes I am being careful to keep it clean.

That looks very sore, if I was you I’d get a pharmacist to have a look at it - they’re fantastic at checking out wounds and suggesting the best way to deal with them.

Darker · 10/05/2021 21:38

Definitely get someone to look at that.

Was there definitely nothing there before your fall?

CrumbsThatsQuick · 10/05/2021 22:51

Ermmm..... expert as we are over here.... that is WAY above our pay grade..it needs professional, medical attention. Go get it seen.

Ellenthegenerous · 10/05/2021 23:06

I agree with Crumbs, definitely get that looked at by a professional.

EnglishRain · 10/05/2021 23:31

Hope you're not in too much pain! Nice to have a satisfactory bruise though. Nothing worse than hurting yourself snd having nothing to show for it Sad

Above the pay grade of a sporner, I shall make myself a chufty badge.

The picture looks way worse than it actually is, I have a dressing on it now and it does not hurt at all.

I do bruise easily and I always have bruises I don't remember happening.

I would still see a professional, especially if you bruise easily and haven’t had that checked before. It could indicate an underlying problem, hopefully not but I would get it looked at for that reason, not just for the current wound itself.

sashh · 12/05/2021 06:37

@Magstermay and everyone else, thank you for your concern, I am keeping an eye on it.

As for the bleeding, we have quite a few redheads in the family so unusual bruising goes with the territory.

It is healing rapidly, which is unusual for me.

Um, you really need to see a health care provider with that. Why are you ignoring such advice??

Plump82 · 18/05/2021 16:47

That doesn't look like a cut. It looks like the skin has split. Id really go and see about that.

PacifyLulu · 14/06/2021 22:29

OP - did you see a doctor? Did it heal? Most importantly, are you ok?
