Very red and sore finger

As per title... but it doesn’t seem to be building to a head... have tried mag sulphate and germolene... any other advice...

Looks sore... get some help if it starts to spread down the finger.

That close to the fingernail I’d get a pharmacist to check it’s not an infection just in case. Is there something coming up or is it just red and swollen?

I think it is an infection from a little hang nail... red area hasn’t got bigger but isn’t getting smaller and was hoping it might come up to a head but nothing... is very tender and sore

Bread poultice as hot as you can stand it for as long as you can stand it. Then mag sulph again.

If you don't want to poke it yourself a pharmacist might help you out.

That is a paronychia. It needs to have a head before you can release it (super satisfying). Oral antibiotics can be given if it is very painful. If it does get a head it can be released with a nick but current guidance says push back cuticle (slower and less satisfying).

How is your finger now OP?

When I had something like that I needed oral antibiotics. As it just got bigger and then filled up.
