As per title - huge very painful lump on groin. What do we think? Squeezing so far has not worked though DH says it looks as though it may develop a head. Very excited.

Have you tried putting a hot flannel on it to draw it to a head?

DriftGames · 16/01/2021 18:41

I've had a long hot shower @VimFuego101 but would a flannel give a different effect?

Yep, flannel and hot salt water if you can. Hope it’s not too painful. Hidradenitis suppurativa Is a very common thing, but very very rarely do people talk about it. Could be that?

DriftGames · 16/01/2021 19:17

@Username1983 I've had a google and it looks very similar though at the moment I just appear to have one lump!

You may never get one again, but mine started with one out of nowhere when I was about 19. People don’t tend to talk about it, but it’s wayyyy more common than you would think. Mine are SUPER painful - so I really hope it’s not too bad for you. I find that a hot, salted flannel, followed by covering it in bepanthan is really soothing. Also - if it’s in a place where you can get a big plaster on it that really helps me as means it can’t rub etc xx

@Username1983 sorry to hear they've caused you so much pain. This one is currently very h comfortable and I'm currently wearing a thong and leggings, so it's not being touched by any clothing but it kind of aches? Could be because I've squeezed it though!

Yeah, I’ve never managed to get rid of one by squeezing. I even tried cutting the skin in early days, but I’ve never found a way that works and always just had to wait them out... it may well be a one off. Fingers crossed! Either way, sounds like you’re doing all the right things

Update: 2am the next morning I went to the loo and it started oozing so I squeezed a little more and lots of bloody pus came out! The pain relief was almost instant. It's still there, a small lump, but almost has a hole in it now?! No longer hurts at all though so I can stop walking like I've shit myself.
