DS has had these warts / verrucas between 2 toes for a couple of years. We've tried everything at home but nothing is shifting them and although he says they don't hurt, I think they're still growing Confused

Time for a podiatrist as don't imagine the GP will do anything ??

Would using those foot peel socks help? The hard skin would all peel away so you don't have to cut & carve.

KangapooandRoo · 27/12/2020 23:16

Mine started so small so I left it & then it started to spread it was huge & was spreading to other places on my foot. I tried duct tape, bazooka extra strong, home freezing, silver nitrate pencil, cutting it with a scalpel corn knife thing
Most of the time I would keep duct tape on it, but does get a bit sore when you are ripping it off and it attaches itself to some dead skin that is also attached to healthy skin
Went when I was using Glutarol Wart Paint.I spent at least five years trying to get rid, so it could have been my body finally getting rid or the Glutarol.
Theres still a dry patch of skin where it was from the years of abuse.

I've not rtft but speak to your GP in the first instance. If they don't do cryotherapy they will refer to dermatology

GP in my experience will do nothing. The success rate of treating verrucas is low so the NHS won't fund it.

This isn't true. We fund it in my surgery.

Duck (duct?) tape replaced every night for about 2 months. Got rid of awful warts on hands and a load of veruccas too

Interesting. Not what my gp told me when I tried to get help for the one on the ball of my foot, that I'd had for a decade and had significantly reduced my ability to walk for any distance. Perhaps another NHS post code lottery?

Search for a podiatrist who offers needling. My daughter had really bad mosaic verrucas on her feet and she had 2 treatments and they went. It was a last resort as had already tried freezing, etc.

Nah these won't work for bad dry skin.

My verucca has gone already since verutop a week ago! I had it for 5 yrs before that.

Have just remembered Zinc Oxide Tape is way better than gaffer tape for staying in place.

HaveITheRightToHoldYou · 08/01/2021 19:35

DS had this problem. We kept getting told to try the tape method. They eventually got so big/so many that his toes were being pushed apart and he was struggling to wear shoes. We were prescribed occlusal and it worked within a couple of weeks. They never came back. It would be worth having a telephone consultation and sending a photo to the GP, it’s not like it’s just one or two he’s got.

HaveITheRight, yes good old Occlusal, used to recommend zinc oxide and Occlusal to patients until they stopped making it. Was good stuff.

Coats of nail varnish so it can’t breathe. Also a multi vitamin every day to boost immune system. Got rid of my dds quickly
