I love a gadget, and bought a little UV torch on a whim. So of course I've been shining it on everything.

Dh is prone to blackheads and blocked pores on his back, but because he is covered in skin tags and moles it can be tricky to spot them.

Blocked pores show up as brilliant white specks and are incredibly easy to remove under UV light!

AIBU to be ridiculously pleased about this? Grin

Maybe a little magnifying lens on an arm I can pull down over one eye

Dilbertian · 14/09/2020 23:21

Ooo hands-free! I already use a magnifying lens with a built-in lamp - but I don't have 3 hands.

Please be careful using a UV torch. My husband uses one for his job, you mustn't shine it in your eyes as it can damage the retina. It's all dependent on the wavelength of the rays and the power of the torch, and a lot of these torches are a bit vague about this. The trouble is, the light doesnt look bright when you look at it, but it actually is very bright. So please be careful and don't let children mess about with them.

I have a pair of those tiny blue eye protectors I use when having phototherapy. Occasionally I manage to pin down a teenager for a blackhead extraction session (usually when they want something from me Grin). I'll make sure they use the eye protectors.
