Hair under the skin?

The bottom of my foot is sore, and it looks like a couple of short bits of hair are under the surface. I've been cutting my OH hair in the bathroom but I don't understand how they've got under the skin? Will put some magnesium paste on now. Sorry for the terrible photo - they're quite small!

Hair splinters, I get these In my hands when clipping dogs and horses.

Squeeze and grab the end with a tweezer, instant relief

Thanks @MooseyGoose90 I think my skin is too thick to get them out with tweezers Blush Maybe I'll try a needle? Never heard of them before! Horse ones sound very painful

Hairdressers suffer from this. My old hairdresser said it was worse in the summer if they were wearing sandals.

I used to be a hairdresser and I've had a few of these. One even down the side of my nail on my hand. I'm afraid your going to have dig squeeze and nip with some tweezers and a needle much like getting a splinter out. Soak your feet in warm water first to soften the skin. Good luck

I've had dog hair under my skin. You have to get it out like a splinter.

sqirrelfriends · 20/08/2020 20:03

I had one of these, it was soooo deep. I ended up soaking my foot in hot salt water and digging until I could get the end of the hair.

Lurkingforawhile · 20/08/2020 20:28

@sqirrelfriends what did you use to dig? My sharpish tweezers aren't working!

@Lurkingforawhile I have some really sharp, pointy eyelash tweezers that did the job. I think slanted would have done the trick though, I left me feet in for about an hour so the skin was really soft.

OMG these bloody hurt! Had one in my foot in feb and I could've sworn that it was glass or metal until I found the hair!

Whynow88 · 20/08/2020 21:27

Use some bicarbonate of soda!

Mix a little bit with water til it’s like a paste and put it on the bit of hair. Cover in a plaster and leave for an hour. When you take the plaster off it should have drawn it to the surface

FlamboyenceofFlamingos · 20/08/2020 21:32

I've had it with a long thick cat hair. I was in agony all day at work and when I got home I pulled it out. Pure bliss

HardAsSnails · 20/08/2020 21:37

Blister plasters draw them out. Just put the plaster on and leave it until you see the hair splinter through the plaster. It's like magic!

Thanks all - I have been using magnesium paste with no luck so I will be trying all of the other suggestions. I have also made my OH book into a barber in future!

I've just dug them out with needle as suggested. Not sore anymore! Thanks all
