Cyst on scalp (close up pic!)

My bf has a cyst on his scalp, I can’t stop touching it! Feels so squidgy! I love the hairs growing out of it. 😁He thinks I’m bonkers, I know it would be appreciated on here!

The doctor said either leave it or have it cut off, as it’s harmless - which I would love to watch, but he wants to leave it! I do like touching it though! Grin

It looks like there's not as much hair growing out of it as on the surrounding scalp? Is it noticeable? If so, I'd want it removed.

I know, I’d have it removed! I know what you mean about the hair, it does look like not as much. His hair does cover it after about 2 weeks from having it cut.

I've had lots of these, the NHS no longer remove them unless they're causing you pain, worth remembering if he decides he wants rid.

I'd start by pulling some of the hairs out with tweezers. Bet they have a nice big fat plug at the end. Dreamyyyyyyyy. Then I would do a punch biopsy. Squeeze out a perfect circle of cyst. Ohhhh and have a lovely puggle around with an instrument with a little circle on end. Or if you haven't got one use the end of a kebab skewer. Once excavated try get out the sac.

Don't try to squeeze it! I think it's actually an intradermal naevus, not a pilar cyst. Cysts are deeper within the skin so the overlying skin looks smooth. This looks bumpy! Google some pics of "intradermal naevus scalp" and you'll see what I mean!

My husband had one that looked like that. We called it "Monty" (for Monty Mole). One day it just crumbled off like overcooked cauliflower!!!!
