Ingrown hair HELP

Hi

I have an ingrown hair in an obvious plave so its visible. It has been there approx 6 years. I know its an ingrown hair as a dermatologist looked at it when i was having a mole removed.

If i pick at it is goes red and insightly. The skin on top seems very tough so although youd think it would get rid and releas eit its impossible.

I stopped trying to get rid of it for a good few years. It reduces to a small blemish but still annoys me.

In the past few weeks as ive been off work ive been picking again. Its becoming compulsive.

Ive tried everything. Needles. Tweezers. Very thin tweezers. Scissors. Sweetcorn holder! Picking. Ive tried exfoliation etc ingrown hair lotions. Nothing works.

I want it gone.

Private Dermatologist or a properly qualified beautician might be able to give you some advice if the usual treatments aren’t shifting it.

It might need to be dug out, and I’d want someone who knew what they were doing to avoid scarring.

I have the same. For 2 years I’ve had an Ingrown hair. I too know it’s an ingrown hair as it’s a lump in the middle of an otherwise equally ‘haired’ area, and has ingrown in the past but been released. Now it’s just a nasty lump which builds up as a boil type thing, heals, the scab comes off without pulling out the hair then heals as a lump but the sodding hair never comes up.

I’d put mag sulph on it but can’t keep it on as it’s in the pubic area and I can’t keep it on under a dressing without it sticking to other hair. I can’t get rid of the other hair for fear of perpetuating the ingrown hair cycle.

So if it’s in an otherwise baldy spot id suggest putting mag sulph on to try and draw it out?
