Ex blackhead now lump, what to do

Hi, teenage DS had a blackhead - I squeezed it, his skin didn't want to give it up. It no longer has a dark head but is a bump, presumably sebum. it slowly got a bit bigger. I've just called a private dermatologist but they want £200 just to look at it (before doing anything!) so I'm now wondering if a dermatologist isn't the best/only way to go. Do any of you lovely mumsnetters have any ideas where might be good to try. I don't mind spending that, but I may be missing an equally good alternative. Thank you

If you post pictures I’d be happy to do on online consultation. I’m a consultant dermatologist. Yep. Tru fact. Photos please.

Watch Dr Pimple Popper on you tube and buy a set of tools from Amazon.

I'll have a go at squeezing it for free! Grin

But I second the advice of watching Dr Pimple Popper for inspiration.

You're all goo vultures! Grin
I've had a go - it really doesn't want to budge, I wondered about glycolic or retinol?

My pores do this , put a flannel in boiled water , wait for it to cool til its manageable and then have him hold it onto his face. When he starts to sweat have him wash his face with really cold water then use a peelable face mask if you have one

Tartanwallpaper · 08/08/2018 23:12

No ides why that works btw

Well, this is sporner corner - we love a good blackhead Grin.

You could try going to the chemist and seeing what they advise. Alternatively, steaming should help open the pore up, as Tartan suggested. You might have to leave it until it 'matures' to a natural head; if you try to do to much with it when it's still solid, you risk making it sore.

^too much, that should say.
