If it bleeds loads and won’t stop, does that mean I’ve found it’s root? I had to stop digging because the blood was in the way. I have a scalpel and I love it Grin

Nothing useful to add but placemarking Grin

My daughter had a verruca recently and I treated it and picked away and cut at it for weeks and weeks and it just wasn’t going. Then I used the freeze stuff - got rid of it within a week.

Cataline · 11/07/2018 22:38

I did it to my son. Two weeks of a small cotton pad soaked in apple cider vinegar on the verruca each night and sealed in with duct tape.
It seemed to eat away the skin around the verruca so that I was able to pick away at it with tweezers. After two weeks I grabbed it firmly and the whole thing came out.
To the person who said they don't have roots- this one definitely did and they went deep! My son shrieked when it came out but then that was it done and it's never returned!

Is it wrong that I secretly wish he'd get another one?

Excited101 · 11/07/2018 22:38

Yes I did! It came out like an iceberg- big white bulb underneath. SO much pain and SO much blood but it never came back, I dream about it regularly.

YesILikeItToo · 11/07/2018 22:40

I imagine I’ll also dream about it now, Excited.

Oh I’m so jealous! I have two right next to each other on the ball of my foot and I’ve never had the nerve to give the wee white sac a good pull when I get the sides of it. I keep filing them after a shower and they bleed a bit but are definitely getting smaller. I’ve had no luck with the home freezing stuff in the past.

FrozenMargarita17 · 11/07/2018 22:45

Not quite the same but I once had several verucca/watt type things turn up on my leg and I sat and picked every one out. I have scars now though but they look like chicken pox scars haha

LunchBoxPolice · 11/07/2018 22:47

I had one on my heel for years. Freezing didn't work, so one day I got a scalpel and cut it out, there were lots of little black dots and then one thick black one like a hair. It bled a bit, then I filled it with verruca gel. Never came back.
Really want to do it again Blush

hodgeheg92 · 11/07/2018 22:47

I didn't know other people enjoyed this stuff too! I had one as a teenager, bled when I finally removed it. God that was so satisfying!

Glowbug59 · 11/07/2018 22:51

Had that before when blood gets in the way. But when I’m not digging, I’ve had good success with these Carnation Verruca Treatment www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001DZOK98/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_yUNrBbWH1N70S?tag=mumsnetforum-21

ToeToToe · 11/07/2018 22:55

Not a verucca but I had this wart thing on my shoulder for ages - I got fed up with it, and just picked it off. It bled quite a bit, and tried to come back again, so I picked it off again - and it's gone completely now. It was gruesomely satisfying.

Storm4star · 11/07/2018 22:55

My son had a lump on his back once, about the size of a new potato. He didn’t actually show me until it got to that size (he’s an adult) and I nagged him to go to the docs and then a couple of days later it just fell off by itself! I was fascinated by it and ended up cutting it open to look inside it, lol.

SleepFreeZone · 11/07/2018 22:56

I had one on the tip of my little toe for donkeys years. Didn’t know what it was until I went to the doctor and he said it was a verruca and recommended an over the counter treatment.

Every night I’d paint the solution on and following day I’d peel off a layer of skin. One glorious day I peeled the skin and the whole thing came out with it. It definitely looked like a root and yep it left a hole. Then it healed up and never came back.

Happy days ☺️

Oh, I’m SO glad I started this thread. You are my people. I’m going to rip the glue off tomorrow and see what’s left. Will update if anything interesting happens.

"the big grey root lifted out"

Heavenly!

IamReginaFalange · 11/07/2018 23:02

Oh I just want to hang around a swimming pool in the hope of getting a verruca Smile

Mooey89 · 11/07/2018 23:09

You need to move this to sprinters corner OP.

TooManyClicks · 11/07/2018 23:22

Here it is. It’s not actually recognisable as a verruca, it’s just a weird mix of raw flesh and superglue with blood mixed through it. My foot may get gangrene and fall off, but at least I’ll have solved the verruca problem.

TooManyClicks · 11/07/2018 23:23

Oh, and please excuse the dirt Blush - it’s where I took the plaster off and then walked around. I promise I’m not usually that grubby.
