Hi there

I have a cyst on my back which has started to get painful.

I’ve been getting my kids to take pictures as I can’t see it or reach it. It appears to have grown a tiny eye. It this infected and so I need to go to the GP?

And yes I would go back

Frazzled2207 · 24/06/2018 22:15

Yes please do go back as antibiotics are not sorting it

Or go to a dermatologist.

My GP dicked about for weeks when I had a verruca telling me it was just dry skin. Went to a chiropodist because it was so painful, who told me it was one of the worst verrucas he'd seen!

A dermatologist will sort that out for you there and then by draining it.

Ouch OP

That looks like it needs draining.

As this thread is a few days old I hope it has now been dealt with. Flowers

captainpantbeard · 04/07/2018 06:14

What happened to it, OP?

Battleax · 04/07/2018 06:16

I’m surprised you lot haven’t formed a flying sport squad to fly in at short notice and “help” with the actual squeezing Grin

Battleax · 04/07/2018 06:16

Sporn not sport, obvs. Though it’s a sport of sorts Grin

Is that a boil rather than a cyst. If you squeeze it inwards from the top it won't do. Boils need pressing down and outwards. Have you tried cupping. Boil a glass with a small diameter, leave it to cool enough to touch then place on boil and press down - someone can do it without touching the boil.

Pratchet · 04/07/2018 06:23

Boils can get huge with tiny heads. The pus needs releasing. 'If there's pus about, get it out'.

so it got drained and then finally removed. Thank god. It took a lot of persuasion for them to remove but it wasn't going away. They did it after it had gone down after draining. But the skin around it looks awful so hoping that changes in the future...

Ew. Thanks for the update! Why were they so reluctant to remove? I assume you mean get rid of the sac.

DailyMaui · 06/07/2018 22:49

apparently cyst removal not a priority now - one of the procedures recently removed from the permissable ops list
