I thought maybe a veruca but it is standing proud of the sole and is sore to touch and red around it. She won’t let me touch, let alone stick a needle in!

dementedpixie · 04/06/2018 20:39

Supermagicsmile · 04/06/2018 20:40

Is it something stuck in her foot?

M5tothesouthwest · 04/06/2018 20:40

Looks like something (?splinter / thorn) has got stuck in there and is infected.

Hoppinggreen · 04/06/2018 20:40

Looks like there’s something in there
Mag sulphate if you have it and a plaster

restingbemusedface · 04/06/2018 20:43

Oooh something in there....

Borris · 04/06/2018 20:43

I haven’t got mag sulphate. Can we get it from a pharmacy? If so I’ll head along to one tomorrow

Could she have trodden on a bee sting? I'd be tempted to get her to a walk in clinic if you've got one nearby or the gp in the morning, as she's going to struggle to walk on that.

dementedpixie · 04/06/2018 20:53

You could try a warm compress

dementedpixie · 04/06/2018 20:56

I remember I used to make a poultice using bread for an infected finger. Probably methods online

FadedRed · 04/06/2018 21:03

Have you any blister plasters, Op? (Hydrocolloid dressing) They can be very effective at getting foreign bodies out of the skin, and stick well for a few days.

Toomuchsplother · 04/06/2018 21:06

Looks infected. Keep a close eye. I have had this a couple of time with my D.C. and Botha times they actually needed antibiotics. Watch out for red tracking marks which means the infection is spreading.

Borris · 04/06/2018 21:42

Hmm. We’re going away on weds so maybe I should try to get a doc appt tomorrow then

CorporeSarnie · 04/06/2018 22:29

It is very inflamed and an infection risk. Get her to the GP tomorrow if at all possible Borris, she very likely needs antibiotics. Better to have a bad day tomorrow than a ruined holiday.

Borris · 04/06/2018 22:47

Thanks all. I’ll ring up first thing for an appointment Smile

How's her foot today OP? Did you manage to get a GP appointment?

Borris · 13/06/2018 21:59

Sorry naughty OP and didn’t update. I did get an appt. GP thought there was a small splinter in but not worth local anaesthetic and digging around just yet. She said no abs needed but to salt water bathe ... which we did and all perfect nowSmile
