Is this daft to see a GP about (possibly cyst on forehead)

I have this cyst (at least I think that's what it is) on my forehead, slap bang in the middle. I have had it 6 months and ta grown from a grain of sand size to this pea sized thing, it's starting to get sore now and honestly looks awful, I can see people's eyes being drawn to it.
It has never had a head and has never leaked anything, it continues under the skin which is where it's most sore.
My issue is I had one under my armpit for 6 ears that got to golf ball sized before it got so infected I had to have emergency surgery and have been left with a big scar, I don't want that on my forehead forever.
I feel a bit silly and vain going to see a GP about it, I can't afford a private removal but as said it's getting bigger and painful.,

Been there six months
Painful
Getting bigger

I don’t think a gp visit would be silly at all. Or vain.

6 months! I would have been after a few weeks, you are definately not daft to go and have it checked.

Jonbb · 11/05/2018 21:00

You need antibiotics and I wouldn't hesitate to go to my gp with that.

Pollaidh · 11/05/2018 21:02

Yes, you should definitely go. I can't believe you waited 6 months!

Mof3K · 11/05/2018 21:03

Jesus sorry OP but that's huge. A GP visit is perfectly valid for that. Good luck!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/05/2018 21:04

Ok I'll go on Monday I'm glad you all don't think IABU. Smile

Definitely get to the doctors, they will soon get rid of it.

Frazzled2207 · 12/05/2018 12:17

I would have been to gp after a fortnight. Hope they sort it out for you.

Does it smell? An ex had one for months, it grew massive and started to smell. He popped it one day (without me, hence the ex) and it was like Vesuvius apparently.

userxx · 13/05/2018 20:42

@rumbelina are you one of those sporner types??

FlatTopVera · 15/06/2018 22:45

@TitsalinaBumSquash how did you get on at the doctors?
