Infected finger waiting for it to pop, pics included

Finger been swelling up over three days. Went to the chemist who pointed me straight over to urgent care at the hospital.

On antibiotics and doc warned it will get bigger and pop. Just waiting for the show, never had anything like this before and even though it hurts I am quite excited.

Anyone know what I can expect?

You need to soak it in really hot water...

Mag sulphate paste may help it along... the crusty white area to the right will start to ooze, I think. Keep loosening the crust, and soaking, to let it all out.

Ohhhh I had this when I was pregnant... had ABs and then had to have it lanced at the minor injuries unit ... couldn’t have local anesthetic so they used that super cold spray ... but ahhhhh the relief when it burst, so good! (& the ginormous bandage afterwards )

Have you tried a bread poultice to draw out the puss

It’s still the same. Been soaking it so will update if any progress, the doc did say if it looks the same in three days with no signs of popping I will need to have it lanced
