I felt myself getting frustrated at how long this was taking.

HOLY CRAP I think I need a cigarette now. Also a stiff drink, I swear I got a little lightheaded a few times.

And may have yelled STOP CRUSHING IT AND LEVER IT OUT a few times.

Did anyone else think they could have removed it more efficiently? And when the hell did I start being squeamish about blood?

Yep that too way longer than it should have. I reckon i could have done a better job! The wee grabby tool was useless!

Wikipedia says that "A rhinolith usually forms around the nucleus of a small exogenous foreign body, blood clot or secretion by slow deposition of calcium and magnesium salts." I'm guessing the calcium and magnesium salts are in the mucus - not many other places they could have come from!
