He’s had this lump on his back for 20 odd years. In the old days (pre kids) he used to let me squeeze it every few months and it would just produce nasty smelly white gunk (dead sweat I suppose)

The last six months or so it has started flaring up into an angry red mini boil which oozes pus and blood then subsides flat again for a while.

Tonight it was still intact when he mentioned that it hurt. AND HE ASKED ME TO PHOTOGRAPH IT!!!! And squeeze it. It burst all over my dressing gown Confused , bled, then just wept a little colourless fluid. The skin around it feels hard, like theres something inside. He’s happy to go to doctor but should he go when its dormant, or about to explode, or freshly squeezed?

Diagnosis please, oh lovely sporning vipers Grin

AuditAngel · 27/11/2017 23:11

Cover it with Germolene and a plaster, it will draw out the pus

donajimena · 27/11/2017 23:14

Best sporn EVER!

QueenOfTheFlatPack · 27/11/2017 23:15

I only have Savlon, will that work? He’s going to work tomorrow and won’t be home til Friday. On previous occasions, it has taken at least a month fir the head to develop again.

Fantastic!

Ingrown hair maybe?

Timetobookaholiday · 27/11/2017 23:27

If it keeps on co,img back, it's probably a cyst, and the wall needs to be removed..though I wouldn't try to do this yourself (I might have been watching to much dr pimple popper)

QueenOfTheFlatPack · 27/11/2017 23:38

I think its a cyst. No way i can remove it - it hurts too much so he deffo needs local anaesthetic. At what stage should he present it to the GP?

Marvellous!! You can buy lidocaine anaesthetic cream off eBay and get the cyst wall out yourself using these fabulous amazon tools Smile https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B019N22WX8/ref=mpssa113aa_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511909938&sr=8-3&keywords=spot+remover+tool&dpPl=1&dpID=51GyBspKBqL&ref=plSrch

I've been watching too much dr pimple popper too !!

fairiesandelves · 28/11/2017 23:02

Oh no - can you all see my amazon details on that link ? Confused

Nickynackynoodle · 28/11/2017 23:09

Phew thanks Nicky ! Was worried you would all see my sporning equipment wish list (Headtorch tweezers comidone extractor latex gloves) Confused

QueenOfTheFlatPack · 28/11/2017 23:51

Thanks for the Amazon links! Unfortunately DH is a bit useless with anaesthetic - as in, it often doesn't work. So he has to have about 8 injections for a filling, etc. I have some numbing cream which I used to excise an infected finger but it didn't numb him and he felt every slice of my blade Shock So I don't think he'll let me dig around for the cyst wall SadSad

Don't dig at it, tell him to go to his GP and get it done properly.
