KLAXON! Freshly harvested cyst!

Long, long, long time lurker and occasional poster but have name-changed because it's not my cyst and I want to protect the privacy of the person who so graciously (a) took the photos and (b) allowed me to post this, despite them thinking that I'm gross for wanting to do so.

Harvested this morning, under local anaesthetic, about 1.8cm big. Four stitches to close up. Scissors to show scale.

Yum.

CallySinammon · 31/08/2017 20:21

It looks like a tiny bald man's bonce.

AnneGrommit · 31/08/2017 20:23

Oh that is marvellous. I could look at it all day. Thank you so much both you and the ex-cystee.

TheDailyWail · 31/08/2017 21:50

We should name that one! Grin

Okkitokkiunga · 31/08/2017 22:07

That is revolting and hypnotic at the same time. Grin

badbadhusky · 31/08/2017 22:11

I like how perfect the first pic is. There's a hole in the cyst in the second one, which harshes my mellow. Please thank the donor for their services to Sporner Corner.

Cynara · 31/08/2017 22:16

Thank you OP, that's gorgeous. Please pass on our thanks to the patient for their generosity in allowing us to share it.

MrsHathaway · 31/08/2017 22:20

Yum indeed. Flowers and Brew all round.

childmaintenanceserviceinquiry · 31/08/2017 22:22

CrystalTits · 06/09/2017 23:23

I like Cally's & TheDailyWail's idea. Can we name it Grant (Mitchell)?! Big thanks to the sporn donor!

sparklediamonds · 07/09/2017 19:44

Just beautiful

CryptoFascist · 07/09/2017 20:01

Where did it come from, location on the body I mean

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/09/2017 01:40

There's a hole in the cyst in the second one, which harshes my mellow. I'm ashamed to say I know exactly what you mean. We are an odd bunch. Grin

klaxonnamechange · 08/09/2017 08:19

Hello

Thank you for all your appreciation Grin I have passed your thanks to the patient, who is bemused by our fascination and joy.

To clarify a couple of things: am not sure if it is a sebaceous cyst. It was removed from the head. It had nested on the right-hand side of the occipital bone. Apologies for harshing posters' mellow but apparently the doctor cut open the cyst and squeezed to remove a little of the keratin so that the cyst sac could be removed more easily and in its entirety. This kept the incision small but it still needed five stitches, which were removed yesterday.

It has inspired me to think about baking cyst cupcakes for Halloween Smile
