Made DD's verruca bleed. What do I do now?

DD has had a verruca for a few weeks on the ball of her foot. I tried duct tape but it didn't stick, tried nail varnish but it didn't seem to have any effect so then I tried an over the counter remedy which is also having little effect.
DD is very patient and a sporner in training. I was filing the verruca this evening & thought it looked closer to the surface so had a dig around with some tweezers & managed to get some of the black bit out. There was still a bit in there which looked more red than black so I had a prod at that and then it started bleeding a bit. Is that normal? It's decades since I had a verruca so I don't really remember. I'm hoping that this may be a sign it's all out but I'm probably being over optimistic!

Ooh I did this, basically ripped it! It was awful, blood everywhere! BUT... it made it go away! Something to do with the body recognising it as something that needed to be attacked/ healed. Hope it works that way for your DD!

Yeah, the virus gets into the bloodstream rather than sitting in the skin, so the body can send antibodies and fight it. Same with moluscum. GP said I don't normally advocate picking things to make them bleed but in this case, it's usually the beginning of the end.

Yes I did this ds was screeching and refusing to let me treat the verucca it split into segments and I needed to file it down because he was fussing i accidentally pulled the middle out it healed up quite fast after that blood bath

They do bleed ferociously if you pull at it wrong!
I stuck lemon juice on my DD verruca, after I'd filed it. It stung her but her body realised and pushed it out in a few weeks.

If it doesn't drop out, then you could try that once it's healed.

I froze them off in the end the one on his toe went first his heel went Friday past they both left huge holes

Strangely the one we didn't treat because it didn't bother him is going on it's own Hmm

Two weeks later & the damn verruca is still there. We've been filing it every night & froze it this evening. Previous freezing didn't work so I have limited hope for this attempt. Such pesky things!
