I'm going to see the gp after work about the monstrous carbuncle on my chin - thought it was just a cystic spot at first but the bit you can see is just the tip of the iceberg, there's a margin of about an inch under the skin. It's pulling my mouth up on one side - gp reckons that antibiotics won't clear it alone and it'll have to be drained. Will post after pictures later.

Very painful if touched, stings rest of time, apt is in half an hour, got a feeling it's gonna hurt a lot more.

It didn't need lanced as the pus is coming to a head so just antibiotics. Unfortunately I need to take them on an empty stomach so dinner is delayed.

Here's another photo, got a lovely ingrown hair in the tache area to match. I had such lovely skin in my teens, could do without the breakouts now I'm in my 40s.

Much too sore to squeeze, will of course provide photographic evidence when the pus makes its break for freedom.

It burst during the night and is oozing pus, i put a tiny bit of micropore over the top while travelling to work but dunno if i should just leave it open to drain. Gonna be a bit of a pain having to dab away the pus all day.

Aww thanks. Mirena fell out during a heavy period and i've been taking norethisterone to stop the bleeding, think that could be to blame.

Not at all! Good genes i guess, my mum is 69 and looks like she's in her early 50s. Here's a pic of us on my 40th last year.

Not forgetting the daily update, i accidentally hit myself on the chin while i was running for the bus and burst it and got pus all over my hand - thankfully i was prepared and stuck another bit of micropore over it till i got to work and able to clean it up properly.
