Any relaxing holiday on a budget for the summer. I know the summer is more pricey but anything that would allow us to just relax and let go. In terms of numbers, 2 adults, 1 toddler.

TUI SUNEO gives you great-value holidays in handpicked three and four-star hotels, keeping up the top-notch standards we’re proud of without breaking the bank. There’s something for everyone, from family-friendly features to areas just for adults. Our family-focused hotels keep everyone entertained, with activities like giant Jenga and pool games, plus dedicated splashing spots and fun sessions just for kids.

I’m looking for a special family holiday; adventurous but not too adventurous. Flexible for time of year (would be next year) but can only go in regular (state) school hols and we don’t have any two week half terms either. Two adults, two children (one over ten, one under). Quite a lot of requirements:
Needs to be warm but not too hot, low 30s maximum, very happy with mid-twenties. Warm sea to swim in though! Something special/unusual to experience - volcanoes, waterfalls, animals to see. Ideally we would love a safari but I’m not brave enough! I looked into Caribbean for a special snorkelling holiday but couldn’t make it work with our requirements. We don’t want to visit Egypt, Turkey, UAE
but open to most others.
Flight has to be direct, at sociable times, can fly from B’ham, Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick. If more than 5hrs then we would want premium economy.
Destination must be safe - as in I suppose not a war zone but also ability to access quality health care if needed, things like that.
Accommodation: open to any style, any board basis. We do need the children to have separate beds (can be sofa beds but not sharing a double) and ideally prefer to have some space.
Budget: for a holiday that really hit all the requirements our budget would be £12k but less for a less perfect solution!

Would be very happy to book with TUI so interested to read your reply.

No direct flights yet but TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar would a hotel to consider:

Proper “special” destination feel
• Tropical Indian Ocean setting, palm trees, white sand beach
• Feels much more unique and memorable than Europe (a real “bucket list” vibe)

Warm, swimmable sea
• Consistently warm tropical water (much better than Med/Europe for swimming/snorkelling feel)
• Great for boat trips, snorkelling excursions, dolphin/wildlife experiences nearby
Good balance of adventure + comfort
• You stay in a very comfortable resort but can easily do “wow” excursions: spice

farms, island trips, reef snorkelling, cultural visits, safari
• Gives you the “slightly adventurous but not too adventurous” balance
Strong family-friendly setup
• Spacious rooms
• Multiple pools, some kids’ facilities, relaxed resort layout

I'm thinking of a mediterranean cruise from Cyprus around the Greek Islands but am unsure that it would be safe, given the current political situation. If things changed would the itinerary be altered, or is it more likely that the cruise would just be cancelled?

TUI always puts customer safety first and closely monitors guidance from the UK Foreign Office and local authorities. If there were concerns in a destination, the most likely action would be to amend the itinerary, for example by substituting ports or adjusting the route, rather than cancelling the cruise outright. Full cancellations tend to only happen in exceptional circumstances where safe operation isn’t possible at all.
If a cruise were significantly changed or cancelled by TUI, customers would typically be offered alternative arrangements, the option to rebook, or a refund, in line with TUI’s booking conditions. Reassurance is usually proactive, with customers informed as early as possible if any changes are required.

Flying with a little one under 2 is usually much easier than people expect. Your baby will sit on your lap with an infant belt the crew provide, and you can take all their essentials through security — milk, food, formula, snacks and a changing bag without the usual liquid limits. Most airlines let families board early, but I actually prefer to board last so we spend less time sitting on the plane, and I always do a fresh nappy change just before boarding.

If you want more space, you can still book extra‑legroom seats even with an infant on your lap, which makes a big difference without paying for a full extra seat. Cabin crew are really helpful too they’ll warm bottles or baby food and are used to little ones getting restless.

I’ve flown with my twins at 8 months and 18 months, and the things that worked best were familiar snacks, a few sensory toys, and a couple of new surprise toys or books they’d never seen before. It keeps them busy and makes the flight much easier for both of you.

thank you ✈

2 adults and 2 kids in the summer holidays, preferably all inclusive, Europe, turkey is a bit too hot, with 2 bedrooms - most AI holidays put the adults and kids in one room and I don't seem to be able to filter for separate rooms. Budget up to about £6,500 for 10 nights

northlundunmum · 29/04/2026 22:47

I’m always looking for hotels which have family rooms (for two adults and 2 kids) which are large enough for slightly separate sleeping areas (eg mezzanine or kids converts to sitting room area in the day) with a mini kitchenette and balcony overlooking the sea - but not apartment / apart hotel - anywhere in Europe. Want access to variety of restaurants nearby and pool(s) but on on the smaller side - (ideally less thann100 rooms!) So hard to find. Can you recommend anywhere?

Why don't you start direct flights to the Gambia from London one week earlier, to cover the October half term?

ecuse · 30/04/2026 07:55

I would like AI or half board plus. Don't care about location or flight time. I would like interconnecting rooms or a two bed apartment as kids are young teen/tween and we (and they) would like privacy but the ability to keep an eye on them. Ideally somewhere that's reasonably sunny in either May or October half term. OR somewhere that's not absolutely scorchio during summer! I can cope with late 20°s but will struggle if it gets to mid 30s! Decent pools are the priority and maybe a kids/teens club. A spa would be the icing on the cake. Price range around £3k. Am I asking too much? Open to hotel packages that don't include flights as we have air miles we could potentially use.

Looking for a multicentre holiday in Europe or short haul for family of 4 children aged 13 and 8. We prefer less crowded places and abilty to do activities. We love nice food and dramatic scenery. Going in august for up to 2 weeks
