I’m looking for a special family holiday; adventurous but not too adventurous. Flexible for time of year (would be next year) but can only go in regular (state) school hols and we don’t have any two week half terms either. Two adults, two children (one over ten, one under). Quite a lot of requirements:
Needs to be warm but not too hot, low 30s maximum, very happy with mid-twenties. Warm sea to swim in though! Something special/unusual to experience - volcanoes, waterfalls, animals to see. Ideally we would love a safari but I’m not brave enough! I looked into Caribbean for a special snorkelling holiday but couldn’t make it work with our requirements. We don’t want to visit Egypt, Turkey, UAE
but open to most others.
Flight has to be direct, at sociable times, can fly from B’ham, Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick. If more than 5hrs then we would want premium economy.
Destination must be safe - as in I suppose not a war zone but also ability to access quality health care if needed, things like that.
Accommodation: open to any style, any board basis. We do need the children to have separate beds (can be sofa beds but not sharing a double) and ideally prefer to have some space.
Budget: for a holiday that really hit all the requirements our budget would be £12k but less for a less perfect solution!

Would be very happy to book with TUI so interested to read your reply.

Where and how to search for somewhere in a French village. Either in the community or close. Not somewhere turned into a complex. Or holiday sight. Somewhere in with the locals, experiencing that local feeling for 2 weeks. But then also somewhere welcoming and with facilities that accommodate someone not local.sorry😳🤦🏼‍♀️!

I'm thinking of a mediterranean cruise from Cyprus around the Greek Islands but am unsure that it would be safe, given the current political situation. If things changed would the itinerary be altered, or is it more likely that the cruise would just be cancelled?

Squirrelandnuts · 03/04/2026 11:28

Have a lovely holiday, wherever you choose to go.
👏

JacCharlton · 03/04/2026 16:08

I am looking at a possibility of a cruise holiday with three generations which cruise ship would you recommend? And would it have enough to do for every age group

SandwichMakerHater · 04/04/2026 06:12

Would love a recommendation for somewhere in France or Spain that gives an opportunity to mix up relaxing, exploring nature and city culture.
Not too big.
Sel-catering adjoining rooms.

I’m looking for a relaxing family holiday with a young child, somewhere safe and child-friendly with good facilities like a kids’ pool and easy access to everything. I’d love somewhere warm, not too busy, and suitable for a first holiday with a toddler and baby - where is the best location for us with all of the facilities we'd need ?.

CopperPan · 04/04/2026 23:04

We are looking for a family summer holiday for 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 8. Somewhere in Europe but not too hot, with beaches, pools, kid's entertainment, easy access to cafes and restaurants (no driving), some interesting excursions. Ideally an apartment with separate rooms for living area and bedrooms for the dcs and parents. Where would you recommend?

Britanniahouse · 07/04/2026 09:40

Can you find out from the website which beaches have first aid and lifeguards on duty ? (same with the hotel pool)

prettypeace · 08/04/2026 20:33

Retired so flexible re dates so what is the best time to book/travel for the cheapest deals?

LilacReader · 09/04/2026 14:03

Would never use TUI after they messed up my last hols - but thanks for offer!

yipyipyip · 11/04/2026 20:33

I am looking to book for May 2027.
I am looking for a toddler friendly resort and somewhere that is warm enough to swim in the pool or had a heated pool.

FindmypalNas · 12/04/2026 07:48

Myself and DD10 want to go to Disneyland Paris July 23rd for 4 nights. Want a hotel with a shuttle to Disneyland like Dream Castle hotel or a hotel in Disneyland (this may be too expensive for right now depends). Halfboard. Budget of £1500.

m1ghtl1ke · 13/04/2026 11:54

Is it possible to search holidays based on flight times

BiddysShed · 13/04/2026 13:58

Looking for 2027, is there any upcoming resort in Europe which is quieter, but still has good amenities for families - can you recommend any hotels there -all inclusive if possible with a 4k limit for 2 weeks or 10 days

Belle60 · 13/04/2026 19:07

I would be solo for the first time and would like something with activities . Not too long a flight and maybe all inclusive with flights from Scotland

aloeleaf · 14/04/2026 01:27

I'm looking for a 5 star adults only resort with top notch fitness facilities and would be grateful for recommendations

Cymraes24 · 14/04/2026 17:40

Hi, I'm looking for a holiday for me and my young teen daughter for May Half Term 2027. First holiday abroad and I'm a bit nervous so want somewhere very safe. Short transfer, not more than about 45mins from the airport. Flying from Cardiff or Bristol. All inclusive or half board with a water park and suitable activities/entertainment in the hotel. Near a nice beach and town with interesting/picturesque places to visit
We'd like somewhere warm enough for pools but not too hot for sightseeing as neither of us enjoy hot weather. I've been thinking about Crete but open to other areas too.
Vegetarian and gluten free food is needed.
Tight budget, up to about £2500 total.
Any suggestions? Thanks

hannahp1209 · 14/04/2026 18:43

As a family of 5 i really struggle with enough space and something from a toddler to a late teen! Rooms for 5 i usually find are in 1 room and it isnt just practical for a teenager who wants his space but doesnt want his separate room. What can you suggest?

HeartyLeader · 14/04/2026 19:41

Looking for a family friendly hotel with splash pad and kids pools, local old towns to explore but not evening entertainment. Have 6 year old and 4 year old but 6 year old some SEND needs and is terrified of entertainment/ people dressed up/ discos. We have tried a couple of holiday s but end up having to leave dinner early and go to room as can't stay in social areas in evening.

timeforteaandcakes · 14/04/2026 22:29

I would like a beach holiday AI twin beds and swim up room. Not turkey. 4/5 stars. It’s impossible to filter for this and means an endless search. Any quicker ways to search?

TestTickle · 15/04/2026 07:48

I would like to have a holiday that isn't self catering for a change, but both my children have severe allergies (to egg, milk, nuts, lentils ). Can you recommend any places that are so good with allergies that I will be able to actually relax on holiday?

I would not risk anything that was not self catering with severe allergies, because of cross contamination - they are busy kitchens with low paid staff who would not have the time and space to cook for severe allergies. Maybe a small hotel would do this ? Hope you get the holiday you want though 🕶

AnotherObliviousWife · 16/04/2026 10:41

Can you recommend a holiday package for a single mum travelling with a 2 and 4 year old? I'd love to take the kids away but a bit scared about going on my own the first time - are there any packages or locations that can make it an easier experience for a single parent? Thanks!

HarryVanderspeigle · 16/04/2026 11:15

We are looking to go to Tenerife, but struggling to find suitable accommodation. We need 2 double beds, or one double and 2 single beds. Not one double and a sofa bed or flimsy beds. One child must sleep in the bed with me, so dp needs a decent second bed. He did his back in sleeping on the sofa bed last time we were away.

For food, we need a kitchenette with fridge, as one child has arfid, so won't be able to eat out at restaurants serving local food. Also buffet half board or all inclusive, as there tends to be something everyone will be able to eat at a buffet.
