Do you refer to it as Parents Get Lost internally?

Beabeautiful · 07/05/2025 10:36

Can they bring their own safety equipment (helmets and goggles) or are they required to wear the ones provided ?

youareonlyhereonce · 07/05/2025 10:41

Do you have a photo of the camp kit before I add this to the booking ?

lillypopdaisyduke · 07/05/2025 10:45

Hello, my question is where can I see a menu of what the children eat, is it made on site or is it brought into the facility ?

JacCharlton · 07/05/2025 12:59

What would you do in really bad weather - are activities changed or postponed ?

namenomnombre · 07/05/2025 14:07

Are you able to accommodate children with allergies?

MrSpocksWife · 08/05/2025 10:44

My question - what about children who take phones and medication, are there places to keep these please ?

Kentishbirdlife · 08/05/2025 11:18

Do most kids attend with friends they know already or do they make friends at the camp?

Ilostmyhalo · 08/05/2025 16:04

Do you mix girls and boys in activities or are boys and girls separated ? Would mixed activities apply to certain activities only ?

How do you support children with special needs/disabilities?

lovemyflipflops · 10/05/2025 12:46

How do you settle over excited, or homesick children to bed - so that they can get enough rest for the next day. Nothing worse than being awake and scared for a child.

littlecottonbud · 10/05/2025 13:05

Are there drying facilities in case they run out of clothes - I would send 4 pairs of everything for 4 days - but if they get wet more than once in a day - how can I prepare for that - and are mobile phones allowed in the bedroom ?

ButterOllocks · 12/05/2025 13:03

Do you accommodate siblings who are in different year groups, 11 and 13, how would this work - can they be placed in the same activities, or do you have rules on this ?

prawncocktailcrispss · 13/05/2025 15:21

I've just read your menu - really child friendly, with a good selection, my question would be- do they select the day before what they want or is it just self serve - and if everyone wants the same for example Katsu curry, and you run out, would they have to pick their second or third choice - and if they are at the last sitting is there a more limited choice (I would want assurance that they eat well when having such busy days). TY

I'd like to echo the question asked by MumC2141 recently. Do you in fact actually welcome children with disabilities?

In my experience this possibly wasn't the case. A few years ago when my son (who has ASD but is bright and high functioning) went with his Year 5 primary school class. Knowing he'd find it challenging, we'd even taken him, a while beforehand, to have an informal look around and chat to the staff. This seemed to reassure him somewhat, so he went with his class.

On the evening of the very first day on the camp his teacher called us to say that he was very anxious and did not seem to be coping with the noise levels, excitement, crowds of other kids, etc. She asked us to come to take him away. The disappointment was huge, because we felt that, with enough support, he could have coped to some extent, and gained something from the camp.

Was this a case of his teacher not wanting to be bothered with having to devote extra time to supporting one needy child among many, over the next few days there, or an example of a situation where the PGL leaders were not giving enough/ appropriate support to the teacher/child to enable my son to continue with the experience?

The overriding impression that we took away, was that PGL is not an appropriate experience for moderately disabled children like my son. I wonder how many other parents have had the same experience.

MindfulAndDemure · 13/05/2025 19:55

I'd like to know if most of your campers come with a friend, or alone? I'd also like to know what the children do in the evenings, after the activities have finished for the day?

Dashel · 13/05/2025 21:57

Does it help the children have more confidence and fun if they have tried some of the activities before they attempt them at camp?

Wildflowers66 · 14/05/2025 17:24

Are children allowed to bring snacks for their bedroom?
And if children start to feel upset for one reason or another (missing home, struggled to make friends etc), will you call parents?

sharond101 · 14/05/2025 20:02

Do they cater for allergies?

DancingHippos · 18/05/2025 20:35

What is are your safety standards - what level of training does everyone undergo who has anything to do with children and with the equipment that they use?

Fancyquickthinker · 19/05/2025 18:27

How do you ensure the children drink and eat enough, particularly if the days are very hot, and the activities outdoors for a long period of time - same with sun cream - do you apply or is it up to the children - who will often miss areas ?

ketchuporbrownsauce · 20/05/2025 08:49

Hello, what is the supervision ratio after the activities have ended and the children are relaxing - the games room in particular, who would be there to ensure fair play, and that they don't get into any squabbles. Again are the sleeping areas supervised to ensure there are no pranks which get out of control ?

LittleDeeAndME · 20/05/2025 08:54

What is the youngest age you will accept (even if they don't do any activities) he can stay with mom and dad whilst the older ones take part - any soft play for the toddlers ?
