Thanks for this thread, If we came on a family break with my children and their friends - what would I need from the friends parents so say I have responsibility for them ? Is there a separate form for non-family members attending ?

Winchking · 21/05/2025 18:32

How do you decide which children share bedrooms? What happens if a group doesn't get along for any reason?

itsywitsy · 22/05/2025 11:40

My son wants to go, but is not a strong swimmer, but can swim, how would you help him take part in water activities to give him more confidence on-going ? (do some children wear float aids ?) He is 11 and talking lessons still at school and privately.

Montydoo · 22/05/2025 12:54

Do family rooms get booked up quickly ? How soon should I book for a 2026 - which would be a treat to look forward to to two year 6 children.

prawncocktailcrispss · 22/05/2025 15:09

What's the plan for severe weather - would there be a chance to reschedule with some compensation or would I need a separate insurance policy ?

Britanniaa · 22/05/2025 15:16

Hello my daughter is interested in the Pony Improver, Liddington – Jul 26, 2025, but it's sold out, can I reserve a place for 2026, or are there any other events with ponies ? TY

LittleDeeAndME · 22/05/2025 17:24

There's not much in the North of England, Winmarleigh Hall, is the nearest to me- are there plans for any venues in Yorkshire ? It's a great county to explore. TY

pushchairprincess · 23/05/2025 10:15

Hope, I'm not too late as this is deadline day - my question is can I pay for a holiday on 2026 now - by instalments ? There is no availability for this year for the times and venue we would want - and to pay in small chunks makes it more affordable.

DanBenandBud · 23/05/2025 10:25

Do you hold weekend children's birthday parties ? I would like to have this an option for my 13 year old and his friends for his birthday next year. TY

hannahp1209 · 28/05/2025 12:18

Do you cater with children with asthma? Can they bring medication as can administer themselves. Thanks

Teddlesisagoodboy · 03/06/2025 12:07

How do you monitor for and protect children from peer on peer abuse/sexual assault.

problembottom · 04/06/2025 20:31

I think my six year old would absolutely LOVE this in the future - she doesn’t have siblings so I wondered how many kids you have going without siblings and without friends in tow? Thanks!

Sleepybumble · 07/06/2025 11:13

Do most of the children attend with a sibling/friend. What percentage are only child/there alone?

HaveCreditWillShop · 07/06/2025 19:11

ACynicalDad · 06/05/2025 21:33

Do you refer to it as Parents Get Lost internally?

Where is the PMSL button when I need it 😆

geemumsnet · 09/06/2025 10:22

Thank you everyone for your questions!

PGL has answered as many questions as possible and will be posting responses asap this week, so keep an eye out for your answer!

The winner will also be contacted today and we'll post the announcement once the winner has confirmed their email.

Our birthday parties are very popular and a great way to celebrate with friends! We’d love to host your son’s birthday party next year.

Feel free to give our team a call on 0333 321 2114 and we can chat through your preferred dates, location, what to expect... and of course, cake! Find out more here too: https://adventureholidays.pgl.co.uk/birthday-parties/

Great question! We allow customers booking in advance to pay a £65 deposit per person towards Kids Camps, with the full balance required 12 weeks before the camp goes ahead. You’re also able to pay in 3 instalments using Klarna when booking a Kids Camp online. Please find more information here on this: https://adventureholidays.pgl.co.uk/klarna-faqs/

You’re so right, Yorkshire is great! We love it so much that we have a few centres here including Newby Wiske Hall in North Yorkshire and a new centre exclusively for our Schools & Groups trips called Dearne Valley in South Yorkshire.

Hi there! Depending on your daughter’s age, we do have a handful of spaces left for 11–13-year-olds on this date. Alternatively, we have a Beginner camp at Boreatton Park which may be of interest? Feel free to give our team a call on 0333 321 2114 if you’d like to chat through options – we could even get her booked in for next year!

What's the plan for severe weather - would there be a chance to reschedule with some compensation or would I need a separate insurance policy ?

The British weather always keeps us on our toes, but it’s part of the adventure! Activities continue running so long as it’s safe to do so. We always recommend packing clothes for all weathers, there’s a handy guide on our website: Key Information and FAQs - PGL Adventure Holidays
If there’s severe weather like lightning, high winds or excessive snow, then the camp may be curtailed. In that case our customer service team will be in touch with those affected with further information such as rearranging the trip.
In terms of insurance, we recommend all bookers arrange their own policies as this is something we do not offer.

Sounds brilliant, we’d love to welcome your family! Generally, families love to book ahead, so it’s the sooner the better to secure your first pick of location, duration and room type. Our 2026 breaks have recently been released and are available to book online – however if you can’t spot your ideal dates then feel free to give our team a call on 0333 321 2114.

Winchking · 21/05/2025 18:32

How do you decide which children share bedrooms? What happens if a group doesn't get along for any reason?

On a Kids’ Camp, children are roomed with those who are in the same age group, and of the same sex. If anyone is having difficulty with their roommates, their Group Leader and our Guest Welfare team on-site are there to support and make other arrangements if needed. Our team are on hand to help with any queries.

Thanks to Mumsnet for giving us this opportunity!

We see lots of this style of booking and can imagine the HEAPS of fun they’ll have. No forms are required on our side for Family Breaks as you will be parentally responsible for the children you bring along. 😊

What is the youngest age you will accept (even if they don't do any activities) he can stay with mom and dad whilst the older ones take part - any soft play for the toddlers ?

Great question! I’ll break this down into two parts for you:

On Kids Camps, where kids travel independently, the youngest age we accept is 8 years old.

On Family Breaks, where parents/guardians and kids travel together, the youngest age to participate is 5 years old. Under 5s are able to attend free of charge but aren’t able to take part in the outdoor activities due to equipment unlikely fitting them. As opposed to soft play, we have a swimming pool at Barton Hall, and fun evening activities suitable for all members of the family.

Hello, what is the supervision ratio after the activities have ended and the children are relaxing - the games room in particular, who would be there to ensure fair play, and that they don't get into any squabbles. Again are the sleeping areas supervised to ensure there are no pranks which get out of control ?

We operate a 1:12 ratio on our Kids Camps throughout the day at our 9 UK centres. Once ‘lights out’ has been called at centres, the night duty team take over who patrol the campsite or accommodation area throughout the night, and they can quickly be contacted at any time should the need arise.
