Both DS1 and 2 have eczema, DS2 has it really bad on the knees elbows and occasionally the face we use all unscented products, and a barrier cream, hydrocortisone steroids on bad flare ups, baths, the itching never seems to go completely (I think sometimes the itching is habit too). Any advise which works would be most welcome. I am not sure what affects hydrocortisone steroids would make long term - do you know - advice ? thanks

My daughter has had eczema for several years and used to see a skin specialist. It’s under control now although she still gets the occasional flare up and she has a repeat prescription for various creams, lotions and paste bandages. Now she’s a teenager I’m wondering if she should be using other stuff on her face? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

What is the most effective way to keep skin hydrated in the winter? My son gets dry skin around his lips and where he licks it, it makes it look so red and sore.

Myself and my 6 year old daughter are very fair skinned. I started developing thread veins on my legs from about 17. Is there anything I can do to strengthen her capillaries and reduce the risks for my daughter in the coming years?

There is so much advice for women about the importance of wearing a good facial sunscreen all year round. I haven’t heard this highlighted for children. Can you advise if children should be wearing facial sunscreens all year round? And also what facial sunscreen would you recommend for children, or teenagers using acne treatment?

DS13 has really dry, red skin around his mouth, it’s not actually his lips but around them, he looks as if he has a bright red trout pout Sad

I know that he keeps licking and it’s worse in the cold. He’s suspected of having SPD so we think he likes the feeling of the licking.

We’ve tried all sorts, Vaseline, lip balm, ordinary moisturiser, Doublebase, I’ve even tried a tiny amount of my steroid cream but nothing works for long.

He’s hydrated, eats a good diet, gets plenty of sleep and has no allergies so I’m just at a loss and I feel so sorry for him as he’s so self conscious of it.

My 14 yo dd has been getting the odd spot - I've started her on your effaclar range, is that the best choice for her? Thanks.

What would you think this is? We initially thought it was ringworm, GP has prescribed different things and now say it isn't ringworm and will go on it's own. She has had this pop up on different parts of her leg for nearly a year now

How do you get rid of eczema on the arches of feet? The second we put socks on they soak up the cream and she slides all over if we wrap in clingfilm first. She won’t not put socks over as it makes her bedding sticky! Any suggestions gratefully received.

What would you recommend for dry hands.

My son (8) is always getting random little spots/knicks on his face. Any ideas?

Any suggestions from a scar on the face from surgery to mend a cut?

Not so much a skin care question per se, but do you know if there's any correlation between getting baby acne and having acne as a teenager? I has awful acne as a teen and it really affected my self esteem. I'm desperate for DS to avoid the same but he had bad baby acne so I'm worried he's destined for the same ☹

My 11.5 year old DD has had lots of whiteheads on her forehead only for over a year. She uses Simple facewash, nivea moisturizer, washes her hair every other day, but doesn't like citrus fruit. Her periods haven't started.

The GP has prescribed nightly Duac, but 3 weeks in, there is little improvement.

What would you suggest?

My toddler has eczema on her inner elbows and in the night always manages to roll her sleeves up and scratch, can you recommend something that will stop this? We use lipikar baume ap+ during the day and it's fab but doesn't stop the overnight scratching

Another request for advice on acne. DS is 12 but has had bad acne since the age of 11. Probably TMI but yellow heads, red lumps under the skin, all over forehead, chin, hairline. He uses Nip &Fab glycolic pads at night.

Is dry skin a condition one can overcome? We used to moisturise my child more than 2 times a day now we only do so morning and evening because the eczema seems to have been controlled with eliminating certain foods in the diet.

My DS2 had a rash for several months (age 6) and the doctor diagnosed Contact Dermatitis, I have changed my household products and it's has improved, but what barrier cream would you most recommend to protect him when he is not at home (holidays and sleepovers) or would be get a reduction in symptoms as he grows and skin adjusts to certain allergens ?

Hi

What would you recommend for occasional dry skin patches around my 6 year old's eyebrows?

Also, would you advise any regular moisturising for children, either year round or in winter when central heating on more etc?

Thank you!
