You may have heard that Davina McCall is supporting Sky Ride this year - a national campaign between Sky and British Cycling encouraging thousands people of all ages and abilities to get on a bike and discover the benefits cycling can offer. In honour of this, we’re offering MNers a chance to post questions for Davina themed around cycling for the whole family.

Davina will also be attending Sky Ride Liverpool on 7 September, one of the many Sky Ride Big Bike events taking place across the UK. These events give thousands of people the chance to enjoy a fun day cycling a traffic-free route through their city or town with friends and family.
Sky has said “Cycling in the UK is more popular than ever with a million more Brits now cycling regularly as a result of Sky’s partnership with British Cycling and as excitement reached fever pitch this summer with the Tour de France visiting the UK, there has never been a better time to be inspired to get on a bike.”

Post your questions to Davina here before 31st August and we will send 20 questions over for her to respond to. We will then post her responses back on the thread on 5th September.

Everyone who adds a question (regardless of whether it's answered or not) will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £150 vouchers for Marks and Spencer.

This Q&A is sponsored by Sky.

Thanks
MNHQ

I love Sky Rides!! It's been fantastic to get out and learn new routes, cycle with our twins and it has encourages my husband to get out and ride more too.

I would like to ask if you cycle with your children, and if so, how you encourage them to build up to longer rides?

Oh I have another question too.

As you are probably aware, a lot of councils won't continue to fund sky rides over the winter, which means a lot of places are winding up now for this year. Cycling often is restricted to summer only for a lot of people who can't face going out in the rain or the cold.

Do you keep cycling over the winter, and do you have any tips for keeping it up over the colder months?

Started walking last yr when my 16 yr old grandaughter wanted to enter race for life - had to say I'd get back 2 her as I found it hard (pshychlogically) to walk to the bus! She was so keen I had to give it a go & I'm so glad I did but I'd like to start bike riding now and haven't ever done that! In the absence of a grandaughter's pleas to go with her can you offer me some inspiration!x

Do you ever get tired and feel like you're fighting lethargy to push yourself onward? You seem to be one of those people who has endless energy, but I'm starting to think that its an illusion and that those that push their way out of the tiredness feel the benefits and those that don't sink into an armchair to get fatter!
