WaterWipes has asked us to find 100 Mumsnetters in London and the South East who are interested in having a free 1-hour baby massage class with their friends.

If selected, you’ll have a fully qualified baby massage instructor visit your home, at a time convenient to you, to guide you and your friends through introductory baby massage techniques and other parent and baby bonding activities. All those attending will also receive a luxury WaterWipes goody bag and will have a chance to win a WaterWipes hamper.

Here’s what WaterWipes has to say about the events: “We know that the first few months can be an unnerving time for new parents. Baby massage is a great way to strengthen the natural bonds between parent and baby and we hope these free classes with a qualified teacher will give parents a fun and informative experience as well as equipping them with some new skills and the confidence to trust that they are all their baby needs”

Key information about the events:

  • Scheduled at your convenience between 21st August and 15th October
  • To take place in your own home with 5 or more of your friends
  • Babies should be pre-crawling
  • All attendees will receive a luxury WaterWipes goody bag and will have the chance to win a WaterWipes hamper

If you’re selected to host a session, you’ll be asked to provide feedback on a thread on Mumsnet and if you wish, post pictures of the event on social media using the hashtag #PureLove. All those who post on social media will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three WaterWipes hampers, and all who give their feedback on the thread on Mumsnet will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Boots voucher.

If you’re interested, please apply here.

Thanks and good luck!

Oh look, it's in London again! What a surprise

JustineBMumsnet · 20/07/2017 13:15

@IAmTheWorwax

We'd just like to confirm that though some of these events will take place in London, they are also open to those that live across the South East. Smile

To be honest mumsnet, this sounds a bit weird!! A stranger coming in to your home to watch you and your pals massage their babies? The name is a bit creepy too, as cynical as that sounds. I think the lack of response here shows this one may be a bit misjudged (and I have a baby AND love a freebie!).

I do however LOVE waterwipes, by far and away the best wipes around and worth the extra money. They can send me some of those of they like!

LapinR0se · 22/07/2017 07:09

I also thought this sounded extremely odd. Something in the wording? Not sure really Confused

MrsJamin · 23/07/2017 06:44

Yes I think this sounds odd too.

JustineBMumsnet · 25/07/2017 18:53

Apologies that some of you think this sounds a bit odd! We're taking a look at our wording at the moment and may be updating our OP shortly Blush.

Let us know if you have any questions about the event!

I think it's the word 'private' that is sending the hackles up... JS Smile

MrsRaymondReddington · 26/07/2017 15:03

I don't see what's wrong with it? I did a private baby massage course. Private meaning paid for (obviously not in this case) as opposed to the midwife run free course.

Kardashianlove · 28/07/2017 20:00

It sounds like a lot of hassle for not a lot of return-to have to try and find 5 friends with pre-crawling babies who are all able to do the same date and who want to attend baby massage. Having to contact them all, then host it in your house. All for a goody bag.
It doesn't really seem worth it.

I suspect most people who are interest in baby massage would have attended a class by now (all are no cost where I live) or can watch videos on you-tube, etc. I'd far rather do that than have to organise and host with a young baby (unless I was getting paid quite a bit then there would be an incentive).

I LOVE water wipes though.

All done x

I would love this but not in London or south east. Perhaps one day there will be stuff for the sw!
