We’re working with the team at Bunnings to find 10 MNers (and their partners/ families if they want to bring them along) to go along to the Grand Opening Weekend of its brand new Bunnings Warehouse store in Milton Keynes!

Here's some more info about the new store: www.bunnings.co.uk/our-stores/milton%20keynes

We're looking to find MNers who can visit the store any time over the weekend of 8th or 9th of July (between 11am and 3pm) - and to then report back on a thread on MN. You can stay for as long as you like during the launch event (first Peppa story time is 11am).

This is the first of two grand opening weekend events taking place on 8/9 and 15/16 July with a raft of free family activities. Customers can enjoy face-painting, balloon modelling and even join Peppa Pig & George for a Story Time session (Peppa Pig and George Saturday 8th only, see in store for details).

After the event, we would like all attendees to share their feedback on a thread on Mumsnet - and possibly a photo or comment on twitter or Instagram!

All those who share feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will win a £100 leisure voucher,. Also: each attending family will get a £20 voucher to spend on the day! You will need to make your own way to the store.

If you would like to attend the event, please add your details here. We will be in touch with attendees asap.

thanks
MNHQ

I've already signed up for this before seeing the comments but am intrigued by mention of the sausage sizzles - what are they? Thought that Bunnings were like Homebase but with more of the hard stuff (bricks, wood, paint etc) and less of the soft furnishing stuff... Where do sausages come into it ?!?

As an Aussie let me tell you - Bunnings rock. I can only hope your new Bunnings stores are as awesome as ours. I also hope they have sausage sizzles every weekend like the Aussie Bunnings do!!

I think bunnings bought Homebase. They have lots of child friendly things that make it attractive to my kids. They do a sausage sizzle every weekend to raise money for local charities

@confuugled1 BBQ'd sausages, laid diagonally on soft white bread with optional onions and sauce. Every weekend every Bunno's in Australia has a sausage sizzle stand to raise money for different community groups or charities. Even if you don't feel like going to Bunnings, you can be persuaded with the promise of a sausage for $2.50 Grin

Our local Homebase was fab until Bunnings bought it. Now it's a messy dump with none of the nice stuff.

They're doing Bunnings wrong! I live near a humongous Bunnings and it is fabulous.

Koala - it's still a Homebase in name - maybe that's why? They haven't Bunnings-ised it yet hopefully!

It's now just a grim old warehouse filled with power tools and incinerator bins. They've got rid of all the home decor stuff and the fab Habitat concession. I used to spend a fortune in there but not a penny since it was bought out by Bunnings. Even if they start doing sausage sizzles I doubt I'll be back.

Do they sell Karcher pressure washers? Anyone know the price by any chance? We live about an hours drive away from MK.

Report
Ginger782 · 03/07/2017 19:40

You know you can google that? The website tells you they stock Karcher...it also provides phone numbers for stores so you can call and confirm stock and pricing.

I am one of the chosen and went today and can confirm they were having a sausage sizzle Grin

I wasn't chosen but went anyway, the queue of traffic was huge yesterday so we went this morning, had free ice cream, free tea and coffee, free key cut, also candyfloss. Staff all did well and I was impressed with the charity and community links already set up, and the artwork that was the hands of the people that built the store, really nice touch. Sausage sizzle got a thumbs up. Only things we could think of if we were being critical was the store was hot and I couldn't work out which was their free WiFi network.

We went back this morning as my son wanted to go on the fairground stuff. The store was even hotter at the end of yesterday, I couldn't work out if it was just the volume of people but it was so stuffy.

I liked that there was a direct entry to the garden centre. Every member of staff was delightful, the guy on security yesterday gave the boys balloons and colouring packs, they were delighted.
