Here at MNHQ we are very excited to be able to offer MNers - at five different locations - the chance to have an exclusive MN preview screening on Sunday 14th December of the brand new Annie movie (At Cinemas December 20).

Read all about it here: www.anniemovie.co.uk/

Annie Movie Synopsis
Academy Award® nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

Check out the trailer here:

The film features Jamie Foxx as Will Stacks, Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie, Rose Byrne as Grace, Bobby Cannavale as Guy, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Nash, David Zayas as Lou and Cameron Diaz as Miss Hannigan

The MN screenings will take place on Sunday 14th December - 5 days ahead of official release!

Locations and times are below:

~ Wimbledon - 10 for 10.30 am NOW ALL ALLOCATED
~ Birmingham Broadway Plaza - 10 for 10.30 am
~ Manchester Printworks - 10 for 10.30 am
~ Glasgow Braehead - 10 for 10.30 am

At the theatre, there will be some delicious popcorn and water on your seats. Late comers will not be admitted and as this is a preview screening there will be no mobile phone/ video camera/ camera use permitted in the theatre, and the theatres will be monitored by a security team using night vision goggles throughout the film.

You're welcome to bring your children to the event and a max of 2 adults per party.

Please state on the form the group size - no changes to this can be made as we want to fill each cinema!

Please note, the film is rated PG and therefore suitable for children under Parental Guidance. You will need to make your own way to the screening and parking is available. Sony Pictures Releasing advises that the film is suitable for children aged 6+

In return we want you to return to MN after the screening and to add your film review as well as post a photo or two of your and your DC in the foyer before or after the screening. We'd also love you to tweet your review with #AnnieMovie.

As an extra thank you, everyone who adds their feedback on the thread on MN will be entered into a prize draw where 5 lucky winners will win a Sony WX350 Camera worth £239 and an Annie Goody Bag!

If you'd like to attend please add your details here.

Here's the link again www.surveymonkey.com/s/AnnieMN

We will be in touch with selected MNers (and are likely to run a standby list) - those selected will need to confirm their attendance with a third party supplier - full details will be sent

Thanks and enjoy the movie!

Thanks AnnieMumsnet , I might have changed my mind after reading your post but DH has pointed out we are already doing something that day, so will have to wait for it to go on general release.

IneedAwittierNickname · 27/11/2014 00:30

We saw a trailer for this the other week and it looks so good! Both my boys are desperate to see it.

We don't care if it changes from the original. If it was too similar it would be boring Confused

jes73 · 27/11/2014 08:40

We'd love to make it. 4 for Wimbledon please.

amytreasure · 27/11/2014 08:44

I really want to see it but my baby is only 17 months and definitely would not sit through a film :(

KnittingNuala · 27/11/2014 08:50

loved this as a kid so would love to go and take my boys and hubby. Ohh think will have to go either way lol. Use to know the old Annie word for word. I have my youngest 4 teenager 15 hubby and me live near Birmingham so be good if we could go there.

JoanCallamezzo · 27/11/2014 08:59

I think it's going to be fab - that little girl was incredible in Beasts of the Southern Wild, it's great that she has been cast as Annie. Can't believe anyone would complain about her not being white Confused

Snowball4girlz · 27/11/2014 09:01

Would like to be added for the Manchester screening please 1 adult and 3 kids :) my girls know Annie inside out as been in a drama show and I would love to see this and how it differs from the original. Thank you.

May09Bump · 27/11/2014 09:25

Thanks - completed the survey. We would like to see what the update is like compared to the original.

AnnMumsnet · 27/11/2014 10:04

If you want to attend, please do add your details on the link below (and in the OP) and we will be in touch with selected MNers asap

I've applied for Birmingham as I loved Annie as a kid. I'd love to take my 3 to see it - what a wonderful 'feel good' family day it could be x

Hello, there is a small but perfectly formed country called Wales just next door to England. Any chance we might get a showing?

confuddledDOTcom · 27/11/2014 20:01

I need to check what we're doing and I'll be applying for Birmingham too!

ellaballoo · 27/11/2014 20:09

Do we find out soon ?
I am very excited and have even persuaded DH that he really wants to go!

Padthai · 27/11/2014 22:26

Oh didn't realise we needed to post on here too. Completed the survey a few days ago and we're really excited to see if we've got tickets. Would be a fabulous birthday treat for the little girl I foster.

Fingers crossed!

topsmart · 28/11/2014 16:53

Oops filled out survey and forgot to post here! Me and DD aged 7 would love tix to the Manchester showing, pretty please!

Blondieminx · 28/11/2014 18:10

Awh I would have liked this - but Wimbledon is very west London so basically no good for Mumsnetters in East Anglia :(

lilyloo · 28/11/2014 22:09

I applied for 4 to Manchester for me , sis and dds please.

ConstantlyKnackered · 29/11/2014 06:50

My 9 yo is obsessed by Annie, although I think the lack of red hair may throw her! We went to see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Violet was a black girl. I think when they've read or seen a story loads and then a main character changes possibly for the sake of being pc, it's weird.
