We've been asked by Activision, the makers of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, to find 60 Mumsnet families to go to a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Nickelodeon Event day in London or Liverpool with their family. You'll have exclusive access to the event for a couple of hours before it opens to the public.

The Event will be going on all day, 9am-7pm but you can come and go as you please - the exclusive Mumsnet access session is 9-10.30am. Here are the dates:

Saturday 10th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 11th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 18th September in London - Westfield Stratford City (please note this is the new Westfield centre in East London)
PLEASE NOTE THEY ARE NOW UNABLE TO RUN THE SATURDAY PREVIEW SESSION - IF YOU APPLIED TO THIS WE HAVE EMAILED YOU

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is designed for children aged 7-12 years but the event is a day out for the whole family (up to 6 people per family can attend, including children of all ages). Here's what will be happening:
· The Trial Turrets: The highlight of the tour, your child(ren) will be amongst the first in the world to play Skylanders Spyro's Adventure. There will be two Trial Turrets, each featuring six screens, with game trials going on all day.
· The Main Stage area: Nickelodeon presenter Matt Walker will lead proceedings, so expect stage shows packed full of cheekiness, laughs, slime and prizes galore! There will be a live 'Burp off', the chance to 'dress up your parents', quizzes and games, including: Jelly Fishing, Ball Pool relay, Hoola Hoops, Build a Krabby Patty relay and Air Guitar, where kids can dress up in wigs and costumes and play air guitar in front of the Sponge Bob and Patrick videos playing on the big screen.
· The Green Screen Activity Marquee: Take a little piece of the Skylands world home, with a souvenir photograph taken within the magical Skylands world.
· Whirlwind?s Tornado Tunnel: The game's element of 'Air' will be brought to life inside the dome-like tunnel. In teams of five, children will have the challenge of plucking a special prize ticket from the thousands of tickets blowing around inside, within a ten minute slot.
Click here for more information about the events.

The events will be filmed and photographed for promotion for other events. If you attend and are filmed/photographed, you'll be asked to sign release forms. The films and photos will feature on the Skylanders website and possibly elsewhere. Parking is available at both Liverpool and London venues but the cost of this isn't covered as part of the event and you'll need to bring your own refreshments if you plan to stay for the whole day.

Attendance is by invitation only - if you'd like to attend please sign up here and we'll be in touch with full details if you're selected.

If you're selected to go, you'll be asked to add your feedback from the day to a thread on Mumsnet - everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw to win a Wii console.

Thanks and good luck
MNHQ

They all better be, I'll look stupid if I turn up on my own... Smile

AnyoneButLulu · 17/09/2011 13:53

We're off to London tomorrow, see you there.
Attendees with younger children might want to consider a trip to Discover in the afternoon - it's a fantastic place for children to play together, although it does cost money.

Collision · 17/09/2011 16:27

MrsDimitri - have you always been this name or are you incognito?

If we are the only people there ie Mumsnetters then I will definitely speak to you all!

Are we allowed to ask who each other are?

youmustbeyolking · 17/09/2011 18:25

See you all there. :)

grumpypants · 17/09/2011 19:39

I will be the one wearing pants over my trousers and looking annoyed...

Kbear · 17/09/2011 20:58

See you all in the morning!

northernmonkey · 17/09/2011 22:04

See you all there :)

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 17/09/2011 22:38

Collision I used to be serenity, but changed to this for some forgotten but I'm sure desperately important reason and then decided to keep it. No attempt at being incognito, I'd have to be far less of a lurker to have to do that! You can ask me who I am if you want Smile

See you all tomorrow I hope - I'm coming by public transport and I have no idea where anything is from the station. Fingers crossed it's all clearly marked.

Kbear · 17/09/2011 22:46

Serenity did I meet you at the Christmas meetup?

DH will be overjoyed to meet the secret cult of mad women at last hehehehe

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 17/09/2011 22:57

I think so? I've been to a few, but I am hopeless at remembering real names, never mind MN ones Blush

TheLadyEvenstar · 18/09/2011 13:41

Well enjoyed that!!

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 18/09/2011 14:28

That was fun wasn't it? Grin

DCs had a fantastic time and it was nice to put some faces to some MN names.

AnyoneButLulu · 18/09/2011 14:41

I'm still there! (having shopped and had lunch) DD is about to fulfil her life's ambition by getting gunked.

TheLadyEvenstar · 18/09/2011 14:43

I only left as DS2 was so tired. We got home and he is snoring on the sofa now Grin its been a tiring 2 days for him. But

Thanks MNHQ he has had a great b'day Grin

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 18/09/2011 15:10

I think my DCs would have stayed all day too, but we've got visitors due this afternoon so we needed to get back.

grumpypants · 18/09/2011 15:28

we just got back - had lunch there, talked in code with another mumsnetter over lunch (poor dh!) - they had a brilliant time and we are definitely going to buy it for xmas. still wiping slime from ds' hair...

northernmonkey · 18/09/2011 16:15

That was fabtastic Smile
My dcs are still buzzing from it. After we finished this morning we ended up going back and I was dragged on stage and dressed up as spongebob Blush
All 3 dcs loved the game and I think it's also on our christmas list.

It was so nice to meet you all and thank you mnhq for a fantastic day.

AnnMumsnet · 18/09/2011 16:21

Grin Grin Grin thanks for going and glad it was all working!

gazzalw · 18/09/2011 18:07

The day was great. We attended the Stratford event. The graphics on the trial turrets game were fantastic and I also thought it was well presented and had been organised well. The games on stage you played were good fun and the prizes fabulous. The photos were nicely done especially the fire one. Smile.

Of course the Wii game is designed to get as much money out of you as possible by having lots of add-ons and extra characters to collect. Just the thing when you are in the centre of a recession so they are marketing it at the wrong time unfortunately to the squeezed middle-class at any rate. That's a shame as the concept is good, the game is addictive and appeals very well to that age group as a multiplayer game. Most games these days have the multiplayer on-line aspect so you could have 5 schoolchums playing online once the homework has been done, as if.

All in all a good day out courtesy of mumsnet.

Kbear · 18/09/2011 19:49

THANK YOU MN AND NICKELODEON - well worth getting up and out early for, the DCs had a great time, we were entertained and well looked after (thanks to Karen for the coffees and drinks for the kids - she was lovely).

All the Nick crew were great and made a fuss of us. DS was thrilled to be slimed - he had a great time especially everyone singing happy birthday to him.

Nice to meet the MNers as ever!

Westfield Stratford impressive and can't wait to go back.

Nice one MNHQ!

Fimbo · 18/09/2011 19:51

We got back just over an hour ago but then we do live in Norwich! Mind you it only took 1hr 40 mins to get there so that was a bonus. Parking was easy (especially at that time in the morning Grin). Only grumble was that it was outside and it was freeeeeezing as I hadn't taken coats, but I guess that was our own fault, if we had read the map of Westfield properly we might have realised!

The PR company were good and organised free hot drinks for everyone and juice/water for the children.

My dc enjoyed the game very much and it is on our Christmas list. Enjoyed the gunging and met KBear so all in all a very successful day.

Fimbo · 18/09/2011 19:53

Oh and my dh joined in singing happy birthday to KBear's ds rather enthusiastically. Don't know if that should be Grin or Blush.

And thanks very much to all at MNHQ especially Ann.

grumpypants · 18/09/2011 20:18

This isn't the feedback thread officially is it? Loads to say - let me know! Big thabk you to all involved in organising it - level of attention was fantastic.

AnnMumsnet · 18/09/2011 20:35

will do a feedback thread this week - thanks

Kbear · 18/09/2011 20:37

Fimbo - nothing wrong with a bit of enthusiastic singing on a Sunday morning!! Nice to meet you and your family - did DD get something fab in Forever 21? We didn't get to go in there as we were starving and headed straight for food when we left the Nick event then a quick look in the Lego shop then home for the party.
