We've been asked by Activision, the makers of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, to find 60 Mumsnet families to go to a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Nickelodeon Event day in London or Liverpool with their family. You'll have exclusive access to the event for a couple of hours before it opens to the public.

The Event will be going on all day, 9am-7pm but you can come and go as you please - the exclusive Mumsnet access session is 9-10.30am. Here are the dates:

Saturday 10th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 11th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 18th September in London - Westfield Stratford City (please note this is the new Westfield centre in East London)
PLEASE NOTE THEY ARE NOW UNABLE TO RUN THE SATURDAY PREVIEW SESSION - IF YOU APPLIED TO THIS WE HAVE EMAILED YOU

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is designed for children aged 7-12 years but the event is a day out for the whole family (up to 6 people per family can attend, including children of all ages). Here's what will be happening:
· The Trial Turrets: The highlight of the tour, your child(ren) will be amongst the first in the world to play Skylanders Spyro's Adventure. There will be two Trial Turrets, each featuring six screens, with game trials going on all day.
· The Main Stage area: Nickelodeon presenter Matt Walker will lead proceedings, so expect stage shows packed full of cheekiness, laughs, slime and prizes galore! There will be a live 'Burp off', the chance to 'dress up your parents', quizzes and games, including: Jelly Fishing, Ball Pool relay, Hoola Hoops, Build a Krabby Patty relay and Air Guitar, where kids can dress up in wigs and costumes and play air guitar in front of the Sponge Bob and Patrick videos playing on the big screen.
· The Green Screen Activity Marquee: Take a little piece of the Skylands world home, with a souvenir photograph taken within the magical Skylands world.
· Whirlwind?s Tornado Tunnel: The game's element of 'Air' will be brought to life inside the dome-like tunnel. In teams of five, children will have the challenge of plucking a special prize ticket from the thousands of tickets blowing around inside, within a ten minute slot.
Click here for more information about the events.

The events will be filmed and photographed for promotion for other events. If you attend and are filmed/photographed, you'll be asked to sign release forms. The films and photos will feature on the Skylanders website and possibly elsewhere. Parking is available at both Liverpool and London venues but the cost of this isn't covered as part of the event and you'll need to bring your own refreshments if you plan to stay for the whole day.

Attendance is by invitation only - if you'd like to attend please sign up here and we'll be in touch with full details if you're selected.

If you're selected to go, you'll be asked to add your feedback from the day to a thread on Mumsnet - everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw to win a Wii console.

Thanks and good luck

Thanks Ann and sorry to sound like a moan Grin

androbbob · 13/09/2011 12:57

I think if it is combined with opening of a new shopping centre then it will be heaving, but if the format is the same as last weekend then you could be disappointed. I did take a photo of the event and can email it to anyone interested - dont want to upload it on here as may spoil it for some....perhaps. The area it occupied in Liverpool was as this photo here but the water was not on Grin

If it is an indoor event then the building of the castle should be alot quicker as they have already done it - maybe Liverpool was a trial run! Also they had problems with the weather at the weekend in building it apparently.

Kbear · 13/09/2011 13:11

If you register on the Westfield Stratford website and put your car registration in you will get two weeks free parking.

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 13/09/2011 14:50

androbob are you the woman I was speaking to?
Thanks for the photo, I wondered what the sign about not drinking the water was all about (and why the floor was so lumpy!)

Hi all - here's the response from the event organisers:

"Activision would like to thank all of the Mumsnetters who came along to the debut Skylanders Spyro?s Adventure Nickelodeon Live Tour, which launched in Liverpool last Saturday 10th, September.

This was the first event of its kind in our European tour and a lot of fun was had by all. Unfortunately, as some of you know, due to the size and scope of production we did experienced some unforeseen teething problems which resulted in a delayed start time.

We would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and express our gratitude to those of you who supported us and who took the time to attend with your families. Your patience and understanding is much appreciated and we hope that you still found your experience with Skylanders enjoyable.

If you are planning to come to the event at Westfield Stratford City this Sunday we are confident the teething problems will be ironed out and you will be able to enjoy the event fully as described in the opening post of this thread."

Ok Helen thank you. Now the next question is where have we to meet the pr person?

grumpypants · 13/09/2011 17:43

KBear - how doesa that work? REally worried now that we will be sat in a jam of shoppers, and end up having a stresful time - ds (8) is so excited about it.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 13/09/2011 17:57

According to my sources, should there be any delays, there is a 'back-up plan', so fingers crossed everything should be all shiny on Sunday Smile

Kbear · 13/09/2011 20:23

I am hoping that as we have to be there at 8,.30 on Sunday morning that no one with any sense will be there until 9.30 for a 10 am opening so parking will be a doddle! LOL

androbbob · 13/09/2011 22:46

rip - we went on the saturday and I think you mentioned the sunday - so maybe not!

Hope all the Londoners have a good time on Sunday!

edam · 13/09/2011 22:54

Do we have to be there at 8.30? Darn. There's something up with the trains on Sunday - the online journey planner shows all sorts of nonsense if I try to get there before 8.45.

TheLadyEvenstar · 13/09/2011 23:31

Edam, I have had the same problem with tfl time table

AnnMumsnet · 14/09/2011 13:29

Guys...am hoping to have a final email out to you all later on today with timings etc..looks ATM like it may be a later start than originally planned so bear with me for now Smile

northernmonkey · 14/09/2011 16:15

Thankyou kbear for the info on parking, will register now. I'm going for the same plan as you, getting there extra early in the hope that we can get parked!! Didn'r realise they were opening the shopping centre at the same time.

I am looking forward to it though, even with the problems of last weekend. Will be nice to put some faces to names too cause i'm nosey Grin

AnnMumsnet · 14/09/2011 18:19

OK....have just heard the preview will now be 9.30-10.30am so a bit later (should make things a little easier). I am awaiting final confirmation on parking and the meeting point and so will email all attendees as soon as I have this. They have asked no one is too early as the security is very tight (I will need all names of attendees).

grumpypants · 15/09/2011 08:18

Hi ya - that's a bit easier! We are driving, and really looking forward to it. DS 1 has told all of his friends, as if he is 'the chosen one' - and dd is currently planning her outfit...

AnnMumsnet · 15/09/2011 10:08

details to follow v shortly re parking etc .......

AnnMumsnet · 15/09/2011 14:26

Have finally been able to send out joining instructions for the day...if you don't get them please let me know...if you get the email pls reply asap [spreadsheet queen]

Fimbo · 15/09/2011 14:52

Lovely Ann, thank you. Have responded. And a wee bump for the other attendees.

So happy with the change of time Grin

AnnMumsnet · 15/09/2011 18:17

Cheers Fimbo! Thought you'd all appreciate the lie in (well an extra half hour)

TheLadyEvenstar · 15/09/2011 18:59
