We've been asked by Activision, the makers of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, to find 60 Mumsnet families to go to a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Nickelodeon Event day in London or Liverpool with their family. You'll have exclusive access to the event for a couple of hours before it opens to the public.

The Event will be going on all day, 9am-7pm but you can come and go as you please - the exclusive Mumsnet access session is 9-10.30am. Here are the dates:

Saturday 10th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 11th September in Liverpool - Williamson Square, Liverpool NOW CLOSED
Sunday 18th September in London - Westfield Stratford City (please note this is the new Westfield centre in East London)
PLEASE NOTE THEY ARE NOW UNABLE TO RUN THE SATURDAY PREVIEW SESSION - IF YOU APPLIED TO THIS WE HAVE EMAILED YOU

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is designed for children aged 7-12 years but the event is a day out for the whole family (up to 6 people per family can attend, including children of all ages). Here's what will be happening:
· The Trial Turrets: The highlight of the tour, your child(ren) will be amongst the first in the world to play Skylanders Spyro's Adventure. There will be two Trial Turrets, each featuring six screens, with game trials going on all day.
· The Main Stage area: Nickelodeon presenter Matt Walker will lead proceedings, so expect stage shows packed full of cheekiness, laughs, slime and prizes galore! There will be a live 'Burp off', the chance to 'dress up your parents', quizzes and games, including: Jelly Fishing, Ball Pool relay, Hoola Hoops, Build a Krabby Patty relay and Air Guitar, where kids can dress up in wigs and costumes and play air guitar in front of the Sponge Bob and Patrick videos playing on the big screen.
· The Green Screen Activity Marquee: Take a little piece of the Skylands world home, with a souvenir photograph taken within the magical Skylands world.
· Whirlwind?s Tornado Tunnel: The game's element of 'Air' will be brought to life inside the dome-like tunnel. In teams of five, children will have the challenge of plucking a special prize ticket from the thousands of tickets blowing around inside, within a ten minute slot.
Click here for more information about the events.

The events will be filmed and photographed for promotion for other events. If you attend and are filmed/photographed, you'll be asked to sign release forms. The films and photos will feature on the Skylanders website and possibly elsewhere. Parking is available at both Liverpool and London venues but the cost of this isn't covered as part of the event and you'll need to bring your own refreshments if you plan to stay for the whole day.

Attendance is by invitation only - if you'd like to attend please sign up here and we'll be in touch with full details if you're selected.

If you're selected to go, you'll be asked to add your feedback from the day to a thread on Mumsnet - everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw to win a Wii console.

Thanks and good luck

TLE I have met you before. I had my 6 week old with me and we were talking about bed-wetting. :)

I went to the Liverpool one on saturday morning with my children. The game was good and my children liked it (my 8 year old son would probably want to buy it) But, as you need all the characters to play (plus the 'portal of power'), I can see it being quite a PITA as things like that have a tendency to go missing.

As for the actual event, tbh I found it quite rubbish!! It certainly wasn't worth driving 40 minutes for (plus tunnel and parking fee's), the email said to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45, but when I did the person we were supposed to meet hadn't arrived yet, there was supposed to be a 'preview' of the event between 9am and 10am, however, we just sat in the cold for an hour until they finished setting up at 9:45!! even then it was another 30 minutes or so before they had finished setting up the other 'activities' that were on offer. When we left at 11:30 the Nickelodeon guy hadn't started any of the games (build a burger/dress like Spongebob) that were mentioned int he write up. However when we walked past on our way back to the car at 1:30 he was getting the children to participate then.

I would honestly say that it would be a good distraction for children if you were already planning to be in the area, but certainly not worth travelling to specifically!!

Arrgh cera1980 after seeing that.

Is it possible to have some clarity regarding the times. I don't want to leave home at 6am if it's not going to be set up ready to go. Don't think dh and the dc would be too chuffed at sitting around for an hour or more after driving for a couple of hours to "get there on time".

Sorry Fimbo!! We really didn't think it was worth driving for, unless there is something else you can do whilst you're there?

Shop! Grin. Dd is cock a hoop because they have some shop called Level21 or Heaven21 or something. They are only 2 of them in the whole of the UK she informs me.

Dh seriously will not been impressed at getting up at stupid o'clock for something that is not set up.

I went on Sunday and would agree with Cera. We weren't at the setting up due to public transport issues. I don't know if the whole of Liverpool was in bed, but while we were there only between 4 and 6 other children were.
I did feel a bit sorry for the 'reps' or whatever the people in blue coats were. They were just playing the game and trying to look interested.

Hmmm. I hope it's better organised this weekend. I'm going to be highly miffed if I trek over there for no good reason and miffed MNers do not lead to positive feedback and good word-of-mouth. I

So do I travel for 3 hours to get there or will I be sorry I did? The new shopping centre looks amazing but this would be a special journey we would otherwise not make.

I would say that if it is the same show as me and DD went to on Sunday, it is not worth travelling for three hours to attend.
DD, as I said, was very disappointed, she had high hopes of being gunged and even took a change of clothes.
I hope someone else who went will arrive to corroborate my findings.

I think we need either NewgirlHelen or Ann to pass on last weekends issues, and get some reassurances that they'll be a bit more on the ball this weekend...

Rip I take it you didn't get the "mn preview" you were just lumped in with everyone else because of the delay in setting up?

My other gripe as well as having a miffed mn'rs dh in tow if it all goes wrong is, if there is a delay like Liverpool, will we have a cats chance in hell of getting anywhere near it seeing as it will be Westfields first weekend opening and is bound to be mobbed?

Fimbo, I wish I had some photo's to show you how small it was. I imagine the preview will be useful in London, Westfield will be heaving I should think.
Honestly, all it was was 12 electric screen games, a stage with a man who may or may not have been on telly, a tent where the giant character came out and another tent where you could get photographs done on a green screen. They were actually pretty cool.

I am a bit concerned now as I will have a 4,2x7yr olds and a 10yr in tow.

I am not so concerned about the older ones but DS2 is going to be grumpy if his b'day is not as exciting as I have planned. Sad
