Babies and toddlers are often curious about everything they can get their hands on, making the process of childproofing a rite of passage for most parents. Fairy Non Bio would like to hear your tips for childproofing your home.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Cleaning products are easily found by little explorers and it is our passion to keep all children safe. We have designed new child lock pack systems for our 3in1 PODs to make it difficult for them to get into, but we still want to spread the word to click close the lid and store up high. We want to know what else could help keep kids safe!”

Do you find it best to have stair gates in the doorway to every room? Do you have an alternative for once your child works out how to use your cupboard locks? Perhaps you know a way to get corner guards to stay on your tables even though your child attempts to pull them off? Whatever your childproofing tips, we’d love to hear them.

All who share their tips for childproofing below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

One gate on the kids room! (Nearly 3 and 5) mainly for bedtime and nap time antics)
We keep all stuff that’s dangerous and messy up High - as simple as that

I was blessed with a not particularly inquisitive toddler I think. Used to be amazed when other people's children would come round and they were into everything.

If I told my daughter not to do something she generally wouldn't so got by with just keeping cleaning products in high shelves I think. I used to put tea towels on the tops of doors so that they couldn't be accidentally slammed shut on little fingers.

We have stair gates and a lock on the cupboard under the sink. My kids have access to most things though, but are under supervision most of the time. This is mainly because I don’t trust my toddler for a nanosecond!

We have stair gates near the doors and stairs and cupboard locks on the cuboard. We also make sure to never leave cooking pots unattended and place the handles away from a place where they can grab it whilst on the hob.

Stair gate to the kitchen, but that was about it:we weren’t as thorough as most. DS was taught straight away that he could have free access to the saucepan cupboard and the Tupperware cupboard but nowhere else and he seemed to think that was a good deal so has never bothered with any of the others.

Seeing everyone's covered the stairgates and cupboard locks, I'll say dietary childproofing is an essential part of keeping your child safe. Start with the chocolate, find it a new home up high and lie it down flat in the cupboard. Biscuits also, can never be seen, so an opaque container of some kind and it's feasible to eat them out of a kitchen cupboard whilst you claim to be wiping down the sides. Bury the ice cream under bags of peas in the freezer.
