We all know that vitamins and minerals are vital to the human body and help us grow, see properly, help make bones, muscles and organs stay healthy. However the difficult part is ensuring that you and your children have all the right vitamins and minerals in your system...especially with vitamin D, as we live in a fairly sun-deprived country Sad. We give them chewable vitamins, which they like

I hide vegetables in the meals I make so they often dont even realise they are eating them. I have fruit out on the table the kids know they can help themselves to them. Most of the time they happily eat fruit and veg, although they do like to have sweets too

My boys have always had fresh fruit with their breakfast, ever since they were 6 months old. They normally have strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, melon and grapes. They also have a banana or apple with lunch and then veg with their tea most nights. They often snack on fruit and cucumber too, and they are out to play most days so don't feel a need to give them vitamin tablets at the moment.

due to multiple allergies we were never able to find a suitable suppliment for them, just provided as varied a diet as possible high in fruit and veg and lots of outdoor walks and play for thei vitamin D

my kids have quite a bit of fruit during the day and my 4 yr old has multivitamin gummies

Our daughters nursery provide a very healthy menu. We always make sure she has a balanced diet at home. Treats are allowed but only if the good stuff has been had first.

We eat lots of fruit in our house, but veggies are difficult. I do cut them finely and add them to meals. I also make 'ice creams' which just consist of whole natural yogurt, blended fruit and a sneaky veggie or two. My son is completely oblivious and just happily eats them.

I started getting interested in healthy eating before I became pregnant with my daughter so luckily I had a good idea of how to get essential vitamins and minerals into a diet naturally. I've passed this onto my daughter but I do back this up with a child's multivitamin.

Thankfully my daughter isn't fussy and she eats lots of fruit and veg regularly anyway :) Occasionally she'll have some of those chewy vitamin c tablets though.

I'm lucky as my kids love smoothies so a small smoothie with breakfast followed by a balanced diet for the rest of the day really helps. I do try to give them vitamin D rich food as well

It is just about encouraging them to eat a wide range of food. Eat with them. Do little things to make it seem more appealing. We often used to have a ‘fruit platter’ - just a selection of fruit cut up and presented nicely which they used to love. Add in cocktail sticks and it is just a bit more fun

DD gets a good balanced diet and loves playing outside in the garden. We also give her a multivitamin just as a backup.

I make a vegetable soup and puree it. Even though my son doesn't like vegetables he never complains about my soups!
