We all know that vitamins and minerals are vital to the human body and help us grow, see properly, help make bones, muscles and organs stay healthy. However the difficult part is ensuring that you and your children have all the right vitamins and minerals in your system...especially with vitamin D, as we live in a fairly sun-deprived country Sad. My son spends a lot of time outside playing at school and at home. He is a very picky eater so I make sure that he has a fruit/veg that he likes as well as attempting to get him to eat something he is not so keen on each day.

They've always enjoyed fruit, kiwis, satsumas, bananas are the favourites so I've always been happy they're getting right amount of vitamins. Snacks are usually fruit based rather than crisps etc.

I'm pretty keen on getting everything I need from my diet without the need for vitamin pills. Even when my son was being quite fussy about food there were always enough things that he would eat to make sure it was quite a balanced diet with lots of goodness in it!

Using probiotics when sick or taking antibiotics to protect stomach. Mixing it with porridge or juice, nice and easy!

Always gave my children the multi vitamin jelly tablets as well as a balanced diet. Good fresh food from scratch. I work as well so batch cooking is a god send as well as my trusty slow cooker

My daughter has multivitamins in jelly sweet form, plus pre and probiotic tablets daily. I also hide rainbow rice into most meals so she's getting a wide range or veggies without knowing it.

I buy plenty of fruit and vegetables but also buy vitamin pastiles to ensure a wide variety is consumed

I make sure that my son has a good balanced diet. I am lucky in that he is a good eater. Although he’s not brilliant at eating vegetables he does love homemade soups where I can sneak vegetables.

Just a healthy balanced diet with fresh food and lots of fruit. We don't give them anything else other than a vitamin C chewable tablet each morning.

We had no problem with the children not liking vegetables, or greens in particular. Fruit was also O.K. There were some things that weren't liked, such as prawns and carrots, but they were specific, not generic.
And vitamin tablets could be given if it was felt necessary occasionally.

I am lucky because my lot have never been fussy eaters so it has been easy to give them a varied diet. Soups are a great way of upping veg intake. Crudités and a home made cheese dip is also a great way of introducing lots of raw veg. We have always grown runner beans and a few other bits which also encourages them.

Our kids eat pretty much everything we put in front of them. One is not particulary fond of mushrooms but that's about it. We make sure the kids are getting 5 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit every day. We also limit sugary and processed foods.

We always have a bottle of chewy vitamin d tablets on the dining room table - even in summer there is not enough sun for us to obsorb. I used to get a lot of coldsores but have found i hardly get them now i take vitamin D regularly.

As for the vitamins and minerals we always have veggies and fruit in our diet - i appreciate some of these deteriorate in time, but really apart from vitamin D you should be getting all the other vitamins from your diet.

I found that eating veggies helps if you make a good gravy, or have a jar of apple sauce on the table. Many dishes can have added veggies put in them (i.e. spag bol, fahitas etc and all those curries and dishes with sauces) but also if you have a kid that wont eat veggies there are cunning ways of disguising them - no kid will ever know you have put cauliflower in mashed potato if it has a bit of salted butter in it, and if you do your own wedges, try doing a few pieces of veg in there as well - coated in spices they taste great. For really picky eaters have you tried slicing wafer thin slices with a potato peeler and boiling for a few mins - drain and add a teaspoon of oil with a mix of some tasty spices? great way to get them devouring them!

I adore brussells sprouts but have never managed to get our son to eat those, but he will eat all other veggies.

We always add hidden veg to sauces and have plenty of fresh fruit for dessert as well

Olivia has always loved salad, fruit & veggies anyway so she gets lots of vitamins that way

I've always given a daily multivitamin, especially through the winter. I still try to make sure they get some fruit and vegetables but my youngest is a really fussy eater so it's much harder with him.

My kids have been encouraged to eat fruit since they were very young, and the enjoy apples, oranges ,bananas, all types of berry fruits and we have a natural diet with meals prepared from scratch. Also make sure they have plenty time outdoors to get that vital vitamin D.

To he honest we're very lucky.
The kids have always eaten their vegetables and love them. My eldest always steals everyone else's brussel sprouts 😂

A balanced varried diet is the complete key. Obviously this is not always possible with fussy eaters. So multi vitamins are a good back up. I simply go for the ones they like the taste of so it is not a chore. For the lo we sing miss Polly had a dolly, let her nurse a teddy then it's medicine time. She loves the routine.

Chewy multi vitamins in the winter and lots of fruit and veg every day
Outside whatever the weather!
I try to cook everything from fresh and include as much good quality meat and veg as I can.

i dont give vitamins m a firm beliver that vitamins come eform the food we eat! i make breakfast smoothies that are packed with both fruits and veg and the kids drink them each mornign without much complaint although im sure if they knew what ib put in them this wouldnt be the case!

I've always tried to provide different vegetables, both fresh and frozen and the only one that's not enjoyed is mushroom, so can't be doing too badly. We also always have fruit around for a snack, but not chocolates or biscuits so there's no choice.

I'm also a huge fan of frozen fruit which are ideal in a smoothie.
