For the majority of us, the internet is an integral part of our everyday lives...where would be without Google?! With so many new terms, slang words, trends popping up all the time and with each generation, it can be difficult to stay on top of it all. Put your knowledge to the test and take the fun (and educational) quiz here that O2 NSPCC created to find out who knows more about the online world in your home.

Whether you are an internet whizz or need to brush up on your internet terms, share your score below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

Mmm. 5/8. If there hadn't been multiple choice answers though, it would have been much lower. I ought to know more - I have 5 DC. I'm a bit of a 🦖 though.

7/8

caughtinanet · 15/03/2019 12:54

What is the point of that quiz? How does knowing when Alexa was invented or how many views Britney Spears have any bearing on online safety.

If that's the best the NSPCC can do I despair for internet safety awareness

7/8. Who knew alexa was so recent. Feels like it's been around forever.

PAW isn't an acronym I've ever seen used and I'm only in my early 20s. It feels like the mid 2000s, when my mum read a list of Internet 'codes' that were never actually a thing. The magazines would say things like P99 meant 'parent alert' or NIFOC meant 'naked in front of computer'. I spent years telling her most of them were made up.

Sunonthepatio · 15/03/2019 13:09

I didn't think it was a very good quiz. 7/8

MrsFrTedCrilly · 15/03/2019 13:31

7/8 had a few lucky guesses, had no idea what salty meant!

Elllicam · 15/03/2019 13:41

2/8 Blush. I’ll try it on my 6 year old when he gets in from school.

clairedunphy · 15/03/2019 13:55

6/8, including a few lucky guesses. My kids are too young for social media, it'll all have changed again by the time I need to know though!

Ribeebie · 15/03/2019 14:08

6/8

Changingagain · 15/03/2019 14:08

7/8 it wasn't really about internet safety though

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 15/03/2019 14:11

7 for me

Asuwere · 15/03/2019 14:26

4/8 - not really convinced it has anything to do with being safe online though. Would I be safer if I knew how many views Britney Spears had or when Alexa was made?

KittyScar · 15/03/2019 14:40

8/8

SleepingIsOverrated · 15/03/2019 14:52

6/8..... Hmm

FrowningFlamingo · 15/03/2019 16:25

6/8 - not too bad I guess

LittleMissWeary · 15/03/2019 16:36

5 out of 8

thenightsky · 15/03/2019 16:43

5 out of 8.

WhiteHartLane · 15/03/2019 17:58

7/8 got the gigi gorgeous answer wrong

Shireslass · 15/03/2019 18:53

8! Quite impressed. Must be all the teenage chatter I overhear at work.

snoozetastic · 15/03/2019 19:09

Oh dear

OddCat · 15/03/2019 19:13

4 - daft quiz as it has nothing to do with internet safety.

Mocha3105 · 15/03/2019 20:19

5/8

callmecrazybut · 15/03/2019 20:59

6/8. Wish it was more about internet safety, like the PAW question.

scarfattack · 15/03/2019 21:39

8/8 which I don't deserve because several were just good guesses. But I am confident with computers etc so am hoping I keep up as much as needed for when my currently small children are older and need more guidance.
