Great family films are often passed down through generations and not only do the films themselves bring great memories but also the memorable characters. Coming together to watch a film as a family can be a great way to spend time with your loved ones. Prime Video would love to know what your family films are and why?

Here’s what Prime Video have to say: “The smash hit family film Paddington 2 has just been added to Prime Video, joining thousands of great movies and TV shows the whole family can enjoy. Paddington 2 sees the loveable bear settled into life with the Brown Family and starting to do some odd jobs so he can buy Aunt Lucie a birthday present. Before he can get it, the gift is stolen by a master thief and Paddington is the suspect.”

“To celebrate, we want to hear what classics you watch with your kids. Prime Video has many to enjoy including Yogi Bear, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Gruffalo, Casper, The Wizard of Oz, Nanny McPhee, E.T, Beethoven, Tom and Jerry, Pingu, Thomas and Friends, Scooby-Doo, Kung-Fu Panda and Shaun The Sheep.”

What do you enjoy watching with your whole family? Do you go for the classic such as ET and The Wizard of Oz or do you prefer the new films such as Kung Fu Panda? Or maybe your family has a staple film that you all watch on special occasions?

Whatever your favourite films are to watch as a family, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

Paddington
Paddington 2
Polar Express
All films we can watch as a family, for all ages and wonderful 'feel good' films that we watch over again.

Elf even when it's not Christmas and inside out

EsmeeMerlin · 19/07/2018 19:51

We adore the Paddington films. Both myself and dh have cried at the end of the second one. We tend to enjoy them more nearer Christmas for some reason Confused

We also like adventure family films like the goonies, Harry Potter, Star Wars, back to the future etc.

Disney/Pixar films are generally well received by all, apart from Coco in which I fell asleep watching.

My eldest (5) loves scary films like nightmare before Christmas, coraline, hotel Transylvania.
Can anyone remember Return to oz?! I remember being terrified of it as a kid but he loves it! My two year old doesn’t get much of a look in but he does really like the boss baby

Paddington 1 & 2

I think School of Eock is the best family film full stop. There is something for both adults and children without having to use cheeky innuendo for the adults. Just really good fun! Saying this, my kids are slightly too young for this but I can’t wait to watch with them.

rennie1811 · 19/07/2018 20:28

Nanny McPhee is a popular choice, my kids also love Trolls movie as well

PooPooOfferson · 19/07/2018 20:48

Aside from the great Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, my 6 year old son has loved My Neighbour Totoro since he was 3. Wonderful animation, stunning colours and a touching storyline.

ScreamingValenta · 19/07/2018 20:50

The Back to the Future films and another vote for Robin Williams' Jumanji.

boo2410 · 19/07/2018 21:11

My son was not a great one for watching films. His favourites were all the Diary of a Wimpy Kid ones.

I tried to get him to watch my favourites, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (I still think the child catcher is creepy), Mary Poppins, Mrs Doubtfire but he wouldn't sit still for longer than 10 minutes. Shame really, I think he missed out on a lot. He rarely watches films now.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 19/07/2018 21:16

Headfullofdreams · 20/07/2018 08:04

Toy story, Johnny English, ET

angel0071987 · 20/07/2018 08:13

MrsRobert · 20/07/2018 08:59

The Lion King and Toy Story are big favourites in our house at the moment! I'd much prefer to watch/singalong to a good kid's film than look at Paw Patrol or Peppa!

FitzChivalry · 20/07/2018 10:12

It's got to be Swiss family Robinson!
