Christmas can be a time to be with family, indulge in all your favourite foods, share gifts and have some well needed relaxation. However it can also be quite hectic, particularly within the kitchen all that food has to be stored and cooked somewhere! With that being said, AO want you to share how you get your kitchen ready for the Christmas period.

Here’s what AO have to say: “At AO we’ve got Christmas wrapped up, helping take the stress out of the festive season. We know that Christmas is more than the decorations and the presents, your home has to be ready too. Don’t risk a kitchen disaster when you're elbow deep in sprouts and cranberry sauce!

So deck your kitchen out with our fantastic deals. Think large capacity ovens and cookers for the BIGGEST turkey and all the trimmings, fridge freezers for stocking up on all those snacks and drinks and dishwashers to make that post-Christmas clean up a dream. You can even buy now and pay nothing for 12 months on selected appliances, so you can cook, toast and feast to your heart’s content.

When you shop with AO, you can rest assured we'll make it easy for you, with 1000s of appliances to choose from, delivered and installed in time for the big day. So you can concentrate on planning the best Christmas, ever!”

Do you decorate your kitchen to give it a Christmassy feel? Perhaps you have an ‘eat up everything in the fridge’ dinner to clear some space for the Christmas food? Maybe you buy extra kitchen utensils to ensure you’re not short of anything on the big day?

Whatever you do to get your kitchen prepared for Christmas, post it on the thread below and every MNer who posts will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky winner will randomly selected to receive a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

No decorating the kitchen here either.

Yes to running contents of the freezer down along with a clean and clear out of all the cupboards so they’re ready to be filled with delicious Christmas treats.

We don't decorate the kitchen for Christmas, but you can tell it's Christmas in our kitchen by the smell of mulled wine and the fact the cupboards and fridge are bulging with cheese, meats and snacking items such as popcorn, crisps, dips etc! I'm salivating already!

We do like to make extra treats but I always try to remember that the people coming round are people who love us and still will even if the roast potatoes aren't perfect.

First Christmas in a house with my DP this year so I don't know what we'll do... our kitchen is tiny so probably try and eat up everything we can beforehand so we have a bit of space! I've already started stocking up on lebkuchen as they always seem to sell out nearer Christmas Blush

I have a feeling a lot of food will be going in the 'outside fridge' i.e. outside the back door in a carrier bag!

I like everything to be spotless for Christmas so have a really good clean. This year, we need to buy a new Microwave so I'd like to do that before the big day. I am mad about vintage so lots of decorations make their way into the kitchen ...

We do all the prep work on Xmas Eve daytime. Family come round and we make an afternoon of it. Lots of chopping veg, prosecco and Christmas music. I can't wait!

I have a huge clear out with all the junk that accumulates throughout the year.
I have a tiny kitchen so every little space counts. I also have a week of using up all the bits and pieces in the freezer to make room!

We eat the same amount of food at Christmas as we do the rest of the year so no preparations needed. We do decorate a little in the kitchen though - fridge usually becomes a snowman, (although we now have a silver one so may have to rethink that this year) and I stick cards to the cupboard doors. I always defrost the freezer before Christmas. Make some dinners out of some stuff and the dog gets the rest. However, i bought a second fridge freezer a while ago, so plenty of space for Christmas food (and beer!) now.

I don't really decorate the kitchen, usually has too much clutter at the best of times. Rest of the house however gets the full works.

Just bought a new fridge freezer fro boots/ao so had a clean out and will not be over buying food til christmas.

I buy luxuary food items, get the christmas oven gloves out, dinner plates, mugs and glasses, festive table cloth, christmas pudding teapot and jug and decorate with some fairy lights around the window. Gingerbread candle burning on worktop, mmm

Always bake something Christmassy nearly every day through December so the kitchen smells all warm and festive!

I adore Christmas cooking. I get to play with new recipes and trot out family heirloom recipes!

My freezer starts a run down about now - using up those random couple of fish fingers, part bags of veg, soup I made months ago and haven't eaten. As I clear space, it's filled with goodies:

A turkey crown - too many people who won't eat meat on the bone! Get it when they go on sale and that's the panic over.
Yorkshire puddings that just need heating through - I haven't enough room in my tiny oven to do them from scratch on the day, and my husband is obsessed with them.
Piles of ice - we drink rather too much gin at this time of year....
Frozen fruit slices - chopped up and kept in a tub ready to make mulled wine at the drop of a hat!
Luxury ice cream - another husband necessity. I've already bought him some mince pie ice cream this year..... Bet it doesn't see out the week.
Fresh salted butter and lots of lovely cheese - keeps it available for cheese and biscuits even when I forget to buy it!

The it's cupboards. Mulled wine spices, mulled cider spices, wine and cider of course, lots of mixers for the piles gin and vodka available, biscuits for cheese, chocolate treats for me.... We don't hold back on getting fat naughty food and drink at Christmas in this house!

We dust off grannies 'posh' cutlery! It only comes out when it's Christmas or when the queen pays us a visit.
