Let’s just spend a few moments dreaming about winning the lottery! How would you spend a big windfall? The National Lottery would love hear who you would share your winnings with if you scooped a life changing Lotto prize?

Here’s what The National Lottery have to say: “Amazingly there are over 4,600 National Lottery millionaires now in the UK winning £1 million or more. And what’s lovely to hear is that 95% of winners say they share their jackpot prize with family, charities and friends; with one third helping their children first.*

Real winner stories:

· Matt – I paid off Mums mortgage aged 28… it was the best feeling in the world
· Trish – I’ve set up investments so that years from now my son will be a millionaire just like me
· Natalie – before the win mum gave us so much help with the children, it was amazing to take her on a dream trip to New York to show her how much we love her and appreciated all her support.

That’s what they did, so now tell us: Who would win if you win? Who tops the list of those you would treat and why? "

…would it be giving your DH the ‘boys toy’ he has always wanted?

…or perhaps rewarding Mum & Dad for all their help and support over the years?

…how about an all-expenses paid girly holiday in the sun?

…or is there an individual or community project you’d love to support and help make their dream a reality?

…or how about you invest in a holiday house that everybody can enjoy for years to come?

Everyone who posts on this thread telling The National Lottery about who they would share their Lotto winnings and how will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck,

With a mega win, once I've casually finished work, I'd make sure my parents were sorted with clearing out the mortgage and anything they need or want - priority to the Norwegian cruise my dad's been dreaming about! Money to my brother to retrain and get set up. Help aunts with clearing mortgages and cousins with university costs. Money to the charities that helped me and my cousin as children.

HoisinSource · 09/07/2017 01:03

Pay off the mortgage, finally redecorate as we've never really had the funds to do so! Help family and friends out (mortgage etc) Probably set up a cattery/cat hotel as a business (I bloody love cats Grin) Buy a flat in Tokyo. Learn to drive and buy a Mini.

Love playing this game!

GloveBug · 09/07/2017 03:00

I would buy DBrother a house and car and make a large donation to a small cat charity in the Midlands that I like to follow and support. Would also donate to Cancer Research. If it was a huge amount I'd like to pay off close friends' mortgages too and be able to anomously help out strangers who are struggling. I've spent far too long dreaming about these scenarios . maybe one day.....

kateandme · 09/07/2017 05:15

savings.
house
make sure family ok
buy sister and bro first homes
give to mum and dad so they can retire if they want to
family holiday

if its huuuuuuuuge amount.talk to someone about setting up a mental health facility community place.so it has health workers.therapys.treatment.emergency beds.day paitent. people that care.kitcehn.dining room for people with eating disorders. yoga room
classroom for learning to live.rec room.sensory room.etc etc.this would have to be if it was the big 90 mil type as I no id have to deal with losing it in this type of facility.

Petitcanard · 09/07/2017 06:46

It would be lovely just to not have to worry about the bills. I'd pay off my mortgage and tuck some away for a rainy day too.

I would take a chance on starting my own business. I've always wanted to own a country house wedding/events venue so I'd love to be financially able to follow my dream. Sigh!

Wilhamenawonka · 09/07/2017 07:38

I've recently found out that my exh (kids dad) is in real trouble. Unemployed and virtually homeless so I'd help him. He's not told me any of it but he's their dad so i'd want to hemp him for their sake.

foxessocks · 09/07/2017 08:17

I'd help out my parents, especially with money to care for my grandad to take the pressure off them. I'd also give money to other close friends and family. Then I'd take us all on a nice holiday!

daisyduke66 · 09/07/2017 10:07

Ah well...this would entirely depend upon the amount of the National Lottery win..!...however, whatever this was, my first priority would be to set my children up with a nest egg..if the ability was there then it could mean giving them financial security long term which would be amazing.

If it was really big I would make sure my nearest and dearest had mortgages paid off to make there lives easier. I would have one big family holiday.

StewPots · 09/07/2017 11:38

The usual stuff like buying property for myself and family...then taking everyone for a whirlwind world tour and seeing everything we could, staying in anything from the top hotels to camping on an African savannah!

I'd love to give my kids the chance to experience other cultures and see the sights. But as usual real life gets in the way, so a lottery win would be amazing to help that pipe dream come true!

Oh, and I would also buy a big ranch and have lots and lots of rescue animals join us, maybe a small holding, then hire a chef to cook dinners every night using produce fresh from the land Sighs wistfully then gets back to doing the online shop and looking forward to a one night stay in Cornwall

Raisingbabylg · 09/07/2017 11:53

I would help out my family and ensure my siblings could afford a family home so they aren't sharing homes. It would also allow my husband and I to afford our own permanent accommodation for our little family.

cheryl100 · 09/07/2017 12:17

I would buy my Mum a house first of all! From there, I would give money to people that have been involved in my life - all those that couldn't be bothered to attend our celebrations etc would not get anything! I would then buy a new house for me and put a lot away in savings for my son! Oh how lovely it would be :)

patchysmum · 09/07/2017 14:05

If I won enough I would buy both my sons a house to be mortgage free would be a great help, I would also put some money in trust for my grandson

shoebedo434 · 09/07/2017 14:12

firstly I would pay of my mortgage then I would do some home improvements. i would treat my parents and mother in law for helping us when we were struggling. neither have mortgages so i would probably either pay for a big family holiday or a dream holiday for themselves. i would put a chunk in savings for my son and savings for us too. my husband would buy a Ford Mustang.

MiserableMe1 · 09/07/2017 14:16

I would love to share my winnings with my family and close friends i want to make a difference in my life and there there no fun in being rich on your own iss there , that way there would be no jealousy between my family, i would love to change so many .lives if i ever won the lottery

PeterReidFaePeterheid · 09/07/2017 16:51

ONE of my fave daydreams.

Two thirds locked away to pay out interest. Siblings' mortgages paid off, mum given enough money for a comfortable retirement. Kids given their starter homes and a lovely big part left every month to make a massive difference each month to individual charities.

I would rather give 100 £1000 donations to good causes than one big give away.

My lump sum interest would be my holiday fund!

And did I mention I would give up paid work?

mumsbe · 09/07/2017 16:55

I would pay for all of the therapy my son needs for his medical condition and make sure both my children were set up for life. I would buy my man and dad a bungalow by the sea and pay my sister's mortgage off. For me and my better half I would buy our house learn to drive buy a nice car and take everyone off to Disney land Florida. Finally I would help charity for autism dementia uk arthritis uk ms charity and fibromyalgia.

SuzCG · 09/07/2017 17:55

I would buy a holiday home by the sea so that we could share this with all our friends & family - that way we would all get something lovely out of the lucky break for many years to come.
Of course, I'd set enough aside to see the kids right when they start out by themselves in life - and I'd also like to do the same for my niece who is currently at Uni, racking up the usual student debt...

buckeejit · 09/07/2017 20:17

Think about this often. Happy with my house but would pimp it to the max while I'm away on a cruise & treat all my loved ones

imustbemadme · 09/07/2017 20:35

If I won BIG, I'd set a trust up for the kids so that didn't have to worry but they'd still have to finish Uni etc, I'd pay off both mine and my parents in laws mortgages off and I'd invest some too. I've always said I'd give my house to an old friend who has always lived in a small flat with her other half and two sons and never been rehoused even after years of asking!

Ragdoll545 · 09/07/2017 20:39

Ooh I dream about this!! I would pay off as many mortgages of friends and family admin possible. I would donate money to my sons small nursery to improve their setting as thank so for the work they have done with him. I would donate to haydns wish which is A small bit personal Asthama charity as my son has Asthama. And then I'd take all my friends on a massive all inclusive holiday and party!!!!

svalentine60 · 09/07/2017 22:55

I'd share with my brothers, sisters and parents. Plus put a large sum in trust for my children when they're older 💖💖💖 Can't even imagine winning the lottery though lol

dilydaly · 09/07/2017 23:13

I think it would have to be a bit of everything really, first I'd make sure my parents were sorted financially, then I'd buy my family a house. I think the next thing would be charitable donations and then a holiday to Florida for the kids :D could dream about it all day eh ?!

sofieellis · 09/07/2017 23:39

I have a list worked out in my head of who would win with me! I know the house I would buy and I'd share with parents, siblings, children and friends. It would be great to see everyone mortgage and debt free.
