With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Easter was always a big deal at home when we were kids, as I come from a religious family. We weren't allowed any sweets, cake, pop, crisps, bicuits etc for the whole of Lent (even on my birthday, which usually fell in Lent!), so Easter Eggs were a very welcome treat on Easter Sunday.

Nowadays, Easter is an important family time for us, as our eldest two will be home from university. We still get the kids Easter Eggs, but we've never done egg hunts - this is something that has passed me by, is it a new thing?

Ever since I was little we have had easter egg hunts around the garden (or house if it's raining). You're never too old to hunt :)

Polyanthus · 11/04/2017 13:26

We always have an Easter tree - branches in a big vase and tie on various decorative D eggs, fluffy chicks etc. It's lovely when the branches are in bud and then the leaves open up over Easter weekend.

We have an Easter egg hunt for all the kids in the family in mum and dad's big garden. As they are different ages we have to have them search for different colours as otherwise the two oldest find the lot!

cookie09 · 11/04/2017 17:42

The kids have a egg hunt with my nieces and nephews then we bake easter cupcakes and design them with chicks and eggs and anything else the kids want to stick on them.

Nice walk with the dogs followed by lazy day and eating a roast. Doing an egg hunt this year for the first time so hoping that this will go well.

matphil · 11/04/2017 19:21

We have an Easter egg hunt in the morning with clue's left all around the house.
We have a lovely roast dinner with the family followed by a few games.

GiraffesAndButterflies · 11/04/2017 20:18

Big roast dinner! The chocolate is a bit of a sideshow tbh Grin
Preferably roast lamb, preferably with yorkshires even though they're supposed to go with beef. Preferably cooked by my mum with hordes of extended family in attendance! Smile

TeenAndTween · 11/04/2017 20:30

We always give our girls Lindt (sorry) chocolate bunnies as that was what we passed on to them the first Easter before we adopted them. They also get an egg too.

We always do an egg hunt with clues.

freedomofspeech · 11/04/2017 20:40

Long unplanned walks and NO lamb

AutumnElla · 11/04/2017 21:06

We don't have many set Easter traditions, I always get them a new outfit a book and an egg and put them out for them waking up on Sunday morning. This year we are going on an egg trail at a farm on one of the days.

baconbap · 11/04/2017 21:38

Painting hard-boiled eggs, then rolling them down a hill till the last person's egg is still uncracked

katieskatie82 · 11/04/2017 21:57

I always hide Easter eggs around the house Easter morning. In the afternoon we have Easter dinner then go for a walk on the beach x

mum25littleones · 11/04/2017 22:10

We tend to go overboard with decorating the house with bunting, putting up Easter signs. Hiding eggs all over the countryside at mums (she lived on a holiday/retirement park so lots of places for the kids to play. The kids get Easter hampers filled with a book, toy, egg, clothing and new bunny pjs - got to love Easter!! 🐰

natholland82 · 11/04/2017 22:25

Every year, we go to my parents house where the children have an easter egg hunt. My mum spends the day before thinking up little poems for clues and hiding them all over. That's our main tradition, but then we will normally have an Easter lunch. Sometimes it's a bit of a buffet, with all sorts of things. Other times we have roast lamb and I'll cook something additional that's vegetarian for my mum!

PhilTB54 · 11/04/2017 23:17

wE HIDE SMALL CHOC EGGS ABOUT THE GARDEN FOR THE HUNT.

lolamia91 · 12/04/2017 00:39

an easter egg hunt :)

spanglisher · 12/04/2017 01:56

We don't make a big thing of Easter, beyond the obligatory Easter Egg hunt, roast lamb dinner and hot cross buns

Pimmpom · 12/04/2017 08:23

Easter eggs for breakfast Blush So naughty but so right!

user1472646069 · 12/04/2017 09:04

We don't usually do an Ester Egg hunt but this year will organise one. The children are excited.

vincenta · 12/04/2017 09:37

We love to colour eggs for easter, day before,it is great when you can find white chicken eggs.we use onion skins to get really dark brown colour, turmeric for yellow colour , red cabbage for blue colour and afterwards kids use some stickers or paint to decorate eggs. We do egg fights on Easter morning. The winner gets all others cracked eggs and is supposed to eat them.kids love it!We also bake cookies for easter and do roast dinner. When my older son was smaller I tried to avoid chocolate eggs and he was fun, now we do egg hunt too. This year we got bigger house with garden and to be honest I am very excited about egg hunt, more space to hide eggs!

Thirdload · 12/04/2017 09:50

I've always done a silly easter hunt for my DH, whether he wanted one or not. Each year has a different twist, indoors/outdoors, sweeties instead of chocolate, or savoury food hidden. Some years I do clues. Since having children I've adapted it to include them. This year DC1 is learning to read so I've got reading clues.

Rigbyroo · 12/04/2017 10:33

Always an Easter egg hunt at my mum and dads with cousins.
We generally buy a book each for dcs, this year we've got sticker books.

user1491215537 · 12/04/2017 11:45

For us it's a time to be together as a family. It always includes a Sunday roast and of course everyone gets chocolate.Smile

bex552 · 12/04/2017 12:28

We've never really celebrated Easter, but since having children we like to do an eater egg hunt in the garden and then buy a non chocolate present for each other as children have far too much chocolate!
