With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We usually go to a local National Trust egg hunt and if we have friends with kids coming over the weekend we'll do an egg hunt in the garden too.

Easter Sunday morning always consists of an Easter egg hunt before daddy goes to work. He's a nurse & he works most Sunday's including Easter Sunday's. We're pretty used to it now. During the day, I play games & chill out with the kids. I then cook a huge dinner of roast lamb with all the trimmings & homemade cheesecake covered in mini eggs. In the evening, it's time for films & stuffing our faces with chocolate eggs!! Perfect day!!!

We all go to Mass on Easter Sunday morning, we then head home for coffee and a fry up before we commence the annual egg hunt! Once we have consumed a years worth of chocolate in about 30 mins we get on with preparing a yummy sunday roast! Love roast lamb and all the trimmings. A walk after dinner helps to burn off some of the dinner /chocolate. Then more chocolate!

We have an Easter tree that we decorate with wooden Easter decorations. Also we have an egg hunt in the garden which the children love and a family lunch. We are not religious at all - it is about bringing the family together.

As a child we spent our Easter weekend at our caravan in Aberystwyth and we still do this to this day with my son , we pack the car up and head there Good Friday morning with a picnic that we eat looking over the mountains . When we arrive we have a lamb lunch with friends and on the Sunday a huge Easter egg hunt with all the children on the caravan site and egg catching for the adults
All in all it's an old school family fun weekend with lots of Cadbury Easter chocolate

We don't egg hunt in Preston. We egg roll. Basically chuck eggs down a hill. The whole town turns up at avenham park to do it on Easter Monday. But generally any hill will do. Hard boiled eggs are good. But if it's choc we wrap them up in cling film first.

Well ever since my children were little we've been going to a local "hut" run by the local elderly. They hold events for the local children and also Easter. They do party food and also hide eggs around the hut for the children to find. All the money raised for this to happen is gathered by the local people so Hat's off to them :-)

robyn297 · 06/04/2017 22:21

All the family come over for roast lamb then we play board games and eat chocolate eggs.

PlateSpinningFrenzy · 06/04/2017 22:21

We eat far too many Hot Cross Buns in the weeks leading up to Easter but dh and I don't 'do' eggs. Our ds will get an egg from us and spending money from Nan and Grandad and we'll all sit down to a lovely roast dinner on Easter Sunday. We'll spend the rest of the school Easter holiday trying to get as much fresh air and exercise as possible to try and burn off some of those extra calories before doing it all again next year - bliss 😍

Our favourite Easter tradition is to decorate Easter Eggs together

jphowden89 · 06/04/2017 22:38

We always go round my Mum's to have a roast with the family (or a BBQ if the weathers really good). We used to have an Easter egg hunt round the house in the morning when we were younger, which I would love to do when my kids are old enough.

Mummy2aRockstar · 06/04/2017 22:40

As a child I always loved Easter bonnet making and decorating egg shells and now I do this with my son.

paulacheadle · 06/04/2017 22:45

baberooo · 06/04/2017 23:50

We have a family Easter egg hunt every year with all the family big and small; then we follow it with a barbecue for the best fun of all.

Lialouise2519 · 06/04/2017 23:52

My mil is a real life Easter bunny!
She has 8 children and 5 grandchildren, she starts buying eggs after Christmas ready for her Easter egg hunt! This year she has 13 for each child - that's a lot of eggs! It's became a huge tradition and my children are so excited, I must say I am too!
Not forgetting our traditional roast on Easter Sunday! I love Easter x

rocketriffs · 07/04/2017 07:46

The kids like to decorate boiled eggs to roll down the hill. We have themed Easter Egg hunts. Last year the theme was Pirates with treasure maps and clues. This year the theme is dinosaurs and the search for dinosaur eggs. Chocolate ones of course.

Fourmagpies · 07/04/2017 07:54

We usually get together for a big family lunch, probably going to be 14 of us this year at my mum's. My mum also likes to do an Easter egg hunt for the children in their garden. We've also done the Cadbury's Easter egg hunts at various National Trust properties which the kids have enjoyed.

Sleepysausage · 07/04/2017 17:47

Our daughter is only 18months but last Easter we met up with friends and their little ones and had an Easter walk with a egg hunt. This year we're doing the same with the same friends... Hopefully this is a new tradition

BearHunting · 07/04/2017 18:37

The tradition I grew up with was church on Easter Sunday, then everyone stuffing themselves silly on chocolate eggs.

DH's family take it much more seriously. Since our DH were born, DH and PILs have been implementing egg hunts, rolling decorated boiled eggs down hills, egg related crafts, and giant slices of home made simnel cake. Hopefully they'll rein it in a bit this year. They put out about 100 chocolate eggs (varying sizes, mostly around chicken egg size) for last years egg hunt. Far far too many!

llewejk · 07/04/2017 22:04

An Easter Egg hunt with the family. Really lovely seeing all the cousins helping each other and working together with the clues. Followed by lovely food, drink and laughter.
