We’ve been asked by Pampers to find out about the biggest nappy change-time challenges that Mumsnetters face! To celebrate Baby-Dry Nappy Pants, Pampers want to hear about your little one’s changing-mat moves…take a read below and share a comment, photo or video of your LO’s signature change-time move to be in with a chance of winning a 6-month supply of Baby-Dry Nappy Pants and a £200 John Lewis voucher!

Here’s what Pampers has to say about Baby-Dry Nappy Pants:
"When your little one is between six and eight months old, you may well notice a change in their movements... what started as a little ninja twist has suddenly turned into a lightning-fast commando crawl across the carpet, a Houdini-esque baby roll, or a beautiful bottom-shuffle! You’ll know then that one thing’s certain; change time isn’t going to get any easier!"

"Nowadays pants aren’t just for potty training – in fact more and more parents are telling us they prefer a pants-style nappy for everyday use with younger babies, because they’re so easy to put on and change - unlike taped nappies, you can put them on with one pull. So, if you’re contending with a professional mover, or a groover, it’s time to make the change and leave the wriggle wrestle behind, with Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants!"

"So, what makes Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants so good for wriggly babies? They have an all-around 360 degree fit stretchy waistband and flexible leg cuffs, so they are easier to pull on even when your little one is moving around. They also feature a unique Extra Sleep-Layer, which quickly absorbs wetness for up to 12 hours of overnight dryness, and Micro Pearls™ which absorb up to 30 times their weight and lock wetness away. In fact, Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants contain the same innovations & features that are in your favourite taped Pampers nappies – so your little one can enjoy all of the benefits of Pampers best dryness, comfort and fit in an easy to use pants style!"

"So, from the first wriggle, try Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants – it’s as easy as one-two-three!

Step 1: Slip your baby’s legs in and pull the pants up and on. Step 2: To change, don’t fear a wriggle-wrestle; just tear the sides. Step 3: Roll the pants up, stick the tape in place and you’re all done!"

And, if you’ve already tried Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants Pampers would be be very grateful if you could share your feedback here

If you’ve got an expert nappy-change disruptor in the house, Pampers want you to get involved by sharing a comment, picture or video of your little one’s signature change-time move! Are they a Kangaroo kicker, a giggler or an Octopus-esque grabber? How about a mischievous Monkey, slippery Snake or just a good old-fashioned wriggly Worm? Let us know below and everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a 6-month supply of Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants and a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My second is the wiggle champion. I swear he's managed to spin his body completely around when I'm holding him by the legs like some sort of owl snake baby hybrid. He's perfectly pleasant about it (unlike his sister who would fuss non-stop but remain relatively still) but it still makes for a mess. I'm also very worried he will eventually succeed in launching himself off the mat. I've found myself googling "walled changing tables" but these nappies might make more sense.

MommieMommyMom · 14/02/2017 18:11

It's like GOD himself brought me to this thread today.
Yesterday, for the first time EVER, my 7month old decided to do some crazy wriggle whilst I was changing her nappy in the shopping centre changing room. Which resulted in poo EVERYWHERE!! THEN when I managed to get her and the Matt all clean, I lay her back down to put a clean. nappy on and she did a crazy roll and very nearly dropped off the charging station.

Then last night she figured out that she can pull the tape and open her nappy. So I'm going to go, right now, and buy some. Thank you :)

The moment that comes to mind was when my little one was a day old (in hospital) and I was having a bath with my mum helping and left my hubby and dad to look after the babba. Came back to my husband proud as punched that they'd changed little ones nappy, when I looked they'd put it on back to front - men lol

SavannahLevine · 14/02/2017 19:54

My daughter used to be a massive wriggle bum, but then we discovered she loves the rhyme wind the bobbin up, so we started doing that while changing nappies. She loves it and will happily lie still doing the actions as I sing and change her bum. Makes things so much easier I've started doing it at mealtimes too :)

sweir1 · 14/02/2017 23:45

You can't beat a wriggler whilst trying to fight the baby wipes that stick together

Givemecoffeeplease · 15/02/2017 07:29

It's like wrestling a snake on LSD. Only the snake may be covered in poo. The cat comes along, takes a sniff and trots away distainfully, but then the poo-encrustated, snake-like toddler attempts to crawl after him. Occasionally he leaves a poo smear in his wake. It's a two man job to change him so I'm excited to hear there may be another way.

UpOnDown · 15/02/2017 18:10

definitely a wriggly worm

Awholelotofhot · 15/02/2017 18:44

My little one likes to wait till I have her nappy off and bum out before suddenly springing up off the mat, giggling insanely and running off - leaving me chasing her around with a wipe and a new nappy! Persuading her to lie back down is nigh on impossible hence developing ninja nappy techniques - but these sound like a much better solution!

VickyRsuperstar · 15/02/2017 19:16

My 2 year old is a little wriggler and finds it hilarious any time we are trying to change her. She thinks it's a game and giggles and runs off! Once caught she jumps around kicking her legs and bounces her butt off the new clean nappy which makes the tabs very hard to do up. It is so much easier to slip a clean pair of nappy pants on as I can do it while she is still standing up (once I have caught her!) I really like the pants as they are ideal for toddlers and will be very handy when we start to potty train her!

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 15/02/2017 19:26

As soon as she learned to roll, DD1 would not stay still for nappy changes. She would continuously flip herself over whilst I struggled to wipe away the poo as fast as I could without spreading it everywhere. Then she learnt to crawl and would be halfway across the room before I could clean her up. By the time she was walking I could change a dirty nappy in seconds.

DS is providing a different challenge. Almost before his nappy is even off, his hand find his penis and won't let go. I need one hand to hold onto his and keep them out of the way and another to clean his bum. A third hand would be very useful.

Dormouse1940 · 15/02/2017 20:00

Recently started potty training...i use the term loosely. I'm so overwhelmed :(
On the plus side however, my toddler loves sitting on the toilet (he has yet to 'produce' anything on there as yet though!)
The only problem is he loves getting on and off the toilet so much he is likely to do so a dozen or more times at each visit. Maybe one day he'll even use it for it's intended purpose?!

Lovelongweekends · 15/02/2017 20:41

Dh is a judo black belt and I'm sure he's been secretly training dd. She's only 5 months old but can flip out of any hold you put her in to try and get a nappy on!!

DaisyChops · 15/02/2017 20:56

I have 18 month old twins who are a nightmare to change, where do I begin with my changing mat tales!

I think the most memorable moment was when I was changing twin 1 and I had just coated his entire nether regions with that bright yellow nappy cream and he did one of those flips and twists and ended up sat on his twins head!! His poor brothers hair was bright yellow!!

You get lots of attention with twins and a lady who stopped to look at them that day commented how they looked the same but one was blonder than the other!!! Erm, not really, that's yellow bum cream in his hair!!

kayleighp85 · 16/02/2017 02:33

The worst times of the day ever ! Hmm

With 5 kids under 9 yrs old I seem to have spent my life on my knees chasing a crawling baby with a nappy half on, pants down by their knees, with them screaming and shouting or with them rolling on to their fronts so i cant see the straps on the nappy as I'm trying and failing to get it fastened straight while they find it highly amusing and I'm sweating and frustrated - Where do they get their Sudden Super strength from at Nappy Changing time ?? Grin

sjonlegs · 16/02/2017 06:20

I have to be perfectly honest there's a time and place for pants/pull ups ... but my preference is nappies.

I have 3 children, all but one out of nappies now, and my eldest son (who has profound special needs) will be in nappies for the rest of his life, as he is unable to toilet himself.

My daughter was really good at having her botty changed - as she was a bit OCD and hated being wet or dirty- so she learned to bring me wipes or a nappy when she needed changing (I'm anosmic - don't have a sense of smell) so this was incredibly helpful.

My middle son was a 'nappy changer's nightmare!' The freedom of being naked meant that as soon as his nappy was off he'd leg it and we'd have to try all sorts of bribery and corruption to get a clean one on him!! Funnily enough even now he's still a fan of doffing off- though fortunately not in public!!

wafflesandpeas · 16/02/2017 09:39

It can be a total nightmare getting a nappy on a toddler that just wants to stand up and toddle about. Nappy pants are such a good idea, so much quicker to just pull them up, rather than having to practically pin them down onto the changing mat!

strawberrypenguin · 16/02/2017 09:47

Mine is a flipper! Lay him down and he just flips himself over. Sometimes he can be kept still with a toy but mostly he just keeps turning over am doing trying to crawl away! Nappy changes take a lot of perseverance!

Zebrasinpyjamas · 16/02/2017 09:50

Dd can't crawl yet but is already practicing her yoga moves by pushing her bum in terms air as soon as her nappy comes off.
DS (toddler) loves to play games at nappy time. Eg pretending his legs are locked together so need a garage to "fix them" or flipping on to his front to "hide" . Great imagination but I'm not that impressed when I'm trying to contain poo at the same time Grin

Allthatglitters90 · 16/02/2017 10:16

My 8 month old DD has perfected lying perfectly still whilst dirty nappy is removed then immediately flipping over and wriggling away before the fresh nappy can be put on Grin lots of distractions and some light pinning down have helped but I suspect, along with many of our friends, we will be moving on to pull ups in the not too distant future!

Rosehips · 16/02/2017 10:50

My 4 year old found it hilarious to teach the 1 year old to run off and hide as soon as her nappy was remove

ICanSeeYourPixelss · 16/02/2017 14:04

I have had many wriggling moments and the inevitable messy moments too!

Mine were super wriggly worms and my youngest even uses distraction tactics and ninja moves to do a runner!

missfab · 16/02/2017 19:22

worst is when i change the nappy, she loves to pee in my face. happens every time, i think she likes the breeze!

misscherry · 16/02/2017 19:24

my baby just wont stop wriggling about when its nappy change time

sexyandsweet · 16/02/2017 19:26

i have a kangaroo kicker, just wont stop moving her legs about!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 16/02/2017 19:46

Just wanted to say that these Pampers are bloody wonderful and save me from chasing a bare-bottomed baby around the house.

My only issue with them...not enough supermarkets stocking them in smaller sizes.
