We’ve been asked by Pampers to find out about the biggest nappy change-time challenges that Mumsnetters face! To celebrate Baby-Dry Nappy Pants, Pampers want to hear about your little one’s changing-mat moves…take a read below and share a comment, photo or video of your LO’s signature change-time move to be in with a chance of winning a 6-month supply of Baby-Dry Nappy Pants and a £200 John Lewis voucher!

Here’s what Pampers has to say about Baby-Dry Nappy Pants:
"When your little one is between six and eight months old, you may well notice a change in their movements... what started as a little ninja twist has suddenly turned into a lightning-fast commando crawl across the carpet, a Houdini-esque baby roll, or a beautiful bottom-shuffle! You’ll know then that one thing’s certain; change time isn’t going to get any easier!"

"Nowadays pants aren’t just for potty training – in fact more and more parents are telling us they prefer a pants-style nappy for everyday use with younger babies, because they’re so easy to put on and change - unlike taped nappies, you can put them on with one pull. So, if you’re contending with a professional mover, or a groover, it’s time to make the change and leave the wriggle wrestle behind, with Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants!"

"So, what makes Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants so good for wriggly babies? They have an all-around 360 degree fit stretchy waistband and flexible leg cuffs, so they are easier to pull on even when your little one is moving around. They also feature a unique Extra Sleep-Layer, which quickly absorbs wetness for up to 12 hours of overnight dryness, and Micro Pearls™ which absorb up to 30 times their weight and lock wetness away. In fact, Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants contain the same innovations & features that are in your favourite taped Pampers nappies – so your little one can enjoy all of the benefits of Pampers best dryness, comfort and fit in an easy to use pants style!"

"So, from the first wriggle, try Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants – it’s as easy as one-two-three!

Step 1: Slip your baby’s legs in and pull the pants up and on. Step 2: To change, don’t fear a wriggle-wrestle; just tear the sides. Step 3: Roll the pants up, stick the tape in place and you’re all done!"

And, if you’ve already tried Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants Pampers would be be very grateful if you could share your feedback here

If you’ve got an expert nappy-change disruptor in the house, Pampers want you to get involved by sharing a comment, picture or video of your little one’s signature change-time move! Are they a Kangaroo kicker, a giggler or an Octopus-esque grabber? How about a mischievous Monkey, slippery Snake or just a good old-fashioned wriggly Worm? Let us know below and everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a 6-month supply of Pampers Baby-Dry Nappy Pants and a £200 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My now 20 month old that is still in nappys has been a nightmare to change since about 6 months old! To say it is a war between the 2 of us is an understatement indeed! He kicks, screams, turns, wriggles and shuffles to try and get away! I mean what part of staying in a dirty nappy rather than a fresh bum hes not still figured out yet i dont know!Hmm ive pinned and pushed and wrestled my way through so many nappies teying not to leave smears everywhere ive even resorted to bribary but hes so strong willed (im sure he senses my fear at change time )Grin i think i may give these pants a try to see if they help and save my sanity! Also could help with the potty training which we are still to tackle! Wish me luck (im going to need it)

BonjourMinou · 10/02/2017 20:40

Oh my goodness. My son is 22 months and nappy change time is a total nightmare! He is so strong and just wants to stand up! So I do use pull up pants rather than nappies because it does remove that extra challenge. I often end up changing his nappy as best I can with him standing up when singing to him and otherwise distracting him doesn't work at all. Pull ups are definitely the way forward and I find the absorbency absolutely fine (with Pampers and Tesco - sorry Pampers!) I find Sainsbury's own and Huggies useless however.

annarack99 · 10/02/2017 21:05

My daughter is definitely a pro roller, flips whole body up and over one shoulder (no matter how pooey she is!) in the blink of an eye.

KarenCBC · 10/02/2017 21:07

I've currently got a 3 day old newborn so the main issue is trying to get his legs out of foetal position for long enough to get the nappy on. However, I know from my pfb that it gets a lot worse than this with squirming and even straight refusing to get on the changing mat. So currently just enjoying this little curled up munchkin!

avocadoadvantage · 10/02/2017 21:14

Nappy changes with my 11 month old are a workout for me! Recently I've mastered the nappy fasten as she crawls away down the hall and part way up the attic stairs!

I've found to avoid the flip and crawl that changing her on my lap works a bit better!

leanneth · 10/02/2017 22:02

Ds2 hates having his nappy changed and twists over. It's really difficult to change him as he's so determined to move!

Thistly · 10/02/2017 22:42

Those of you with 7 month old little movers.... IT GETS MUCH HARDER!!!!
The power skill and sheer determination of the 18 month old
Nappy escaper makes me wonder how on earth I managed terry folds and nappy nippas with the pfb.... Gonna be potty traing this lo ASAP.
Not sure how pull ups gonna help, as it the constant kicking whilst trying to clean up the poo which is the main challenge. And the eczema on the lower back which nappy time is such a good opportunity to have a real good scratch.....

Amaksy · 10/02/2017 23:13

I do dislike changing when out and about - once when my son was barely 4 months old we went for a long stroll and ended up in another town only to realise he needed changing. with no changing place in sight I did turn the pram into a changing mat. Unfortunately the poo had gone all over his back but I expertly managed to avoid this getting on the seats phew! I do dread the changing rooms in shop as you never know the state you'll find them in especially if paired with a disabled toilet.

mandes1 · 11/02/2017 01:56

Wow! it looks like my little princess is part of a large group of wrigglers! I must say i gain a little comfort in knowing she is not the only one! I remember the good old nappy changing days when she used to babble away happily to my rendition of twinkle twinkle - until one day - BAM! - off she went. Once the realisation hit that she doesn't have to sit still during these (obviously) boring nappy changes there was no stopping her.

The only solution I have (and long may it last) is putting a pair of socks over her hands. On a good day she has fun and games in trying to remove the 'sock gloves'. On the occasional times she finds it highly irritating, before she has the time to winge, nappy changing is complete and kisses and cuddles can resume. Well until she is off again.....!

GruffaloPants · 11/02/2017 05:33

My 6 month old has got the sideways flip down to a fine art. Worst when trying to position the nappy. If she manages to slow me down this way she seems to enjoy leaning onto the carpet to dribble or vomit (she has reflux so it happens a lot, but never on the wipeable change mat). My older daughter was just pointing out the ad for these Pampers today!

glenka · 11/02/2017 07:20

Funnily enough this seems to be the only time that they stay still and peaceful.

barbsbarbs · 11/02/2017 07:31

back shift move all the way, then flip and crawl away. its like wrestling an alligator

stimpy1 · 11/02/2017 08:20

My first born was very chilled at all times (as you can see from the picture!) The other two were often chased around the room with a nappy half on, half off!!!

Yes mine goes for the great escape! Have given up on the changing table now as he likes to try and take a five 😰The stress

happysouls · 11/02/2017 09:01

My greatest nappy change memory is when I took my son to the doctors for an injection in his bum and when I lay him on the couch and removed his nappy he lay there on his back and wee'd a perfect arch all over everything! hahaha! Not funny at the time!

janeyf1 · 11/02/2017 09:28

My brother has been lucky that pull-ups exist now, so changing his little one is so much easier than it used to be. I used to get quite stressed trying to change the nappy because the little one would try to resist and roll around kicking and pulling it off

juju3 · 11/02/2017 09:30

Still very young at the moment and tends to lie quiet - really likes having the nappy changed

amyhalliday1 · 11/02/2017 09:35

They're psychic !!! And quick ! I have to be a ninja with DS!

maryandbuzz1 · 11/02/2017 09:53

As soon as changing time was mentioned trouble started. Thank goodness for a downstairs bathroom as we could be in there in a jiffy. The worst was the constant angry kicking and screaming as soon as he was laid on his back! My husband and I would have to take it in turns ...each of us dreading our turn!

puglife · 11/02/2017 11:01

My 10 month old dd rolls everywhere, making nappy changes a bit of a mission! Pooey nappies were the worst, she try to grasp the dirty nappy and rolls everywhere.

We've got some of the pampers pull ups now and I do find it much easier, as I can just pull them up as she rolls around!

Eblessing · 11/02/2017 11:05

Plenty of toys to entertain the little munchkin just about does the trick! Funny little wriggler!

compy99 · 11/02/2017 11:20

yes we used to have wrestling matches, the only thing that would work was putting a DVD of Peppa Pig on the TV and then our little chap would stay very still, however, this meant that we had to take the DVD with us whenever we went visiting and had to make sure to remember to bring it back home with us.

BeeMyBaby · 11/02/2017 11:37

We changed to using nappy pants about 3 months ago after I saw the adverts as I no longer had the patience for nappy changes and dealing with DS's nappy hanging off him as he had flipped mid change. He only has patience to get cleaned up but can't bear having to wait for a new one to be strapped on.

OldBooks · 11/02/2017 11:41

DD is 6 months and not yet too mobile but blimey can she kick and wriggle - usually manages to pull her feet out of my grasp and dunk them in the pooey nappy so I end up wiping poo off her feet at best and off me, the changing mat, her hands and so on at worst!

winterpark · 11/02/2017 11:45

Changing times is always an adventure, I have to be so quick or he is off, I try to distract him with a toy or a silly song :)
