It's easy to be a bit of a grinch in the run-up to Christmas when you've spent what feels like months shopping, cleaning and preparing for it. The good thing is that kids have a way of reminding us what it's really all about, and Cadbury would like to know about the little ways your children have made you recognise the joy that comes with the Christmas season.

From excited visits to meet Father Christmas, to interesting homemade tree decorations and their boundless energy on the big day itself, Cadbury would like to hear how your kids have made you full of joy at Christmas time.

All those who share the ways their children remind them of the joy in the festive season in a post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

The cute belief in Santa and the hugre excitement over everything Christmassy does it!

BruthasTortoise · 08/12/2016 22:30

The absolute joy on their faces when the Christmas lights get turned on! And the excited whispers on Christmas morning when they're trying to decide is it too early yet...it always is and we always get up anyway.

stefalfie11 · 08/12/2016 22:42

Seeing them get more and more excited everyday as our local town puts up the christmas decorations and the neighbours put up their trees and lights!

xcxcsophiexcxc · 08/12/2016 22:50

Every car journey he looks out the window for reindeer reminds me of when I used to listen out for the sleigh bells and my dad would convince me he could hear them!

MrsDramaQueen · 08/12/2016 22:57

I love just seeing my childrens excitement at small things like a tree in the supermarket, or lights on someone's house, or getting our first tub of chocolates for Christmas. Seeing it through a children's eyes is magical.

Amez2012 · 09/12/2016 00:05

As soon as you see the excitement built up in their faces it gets you excited! Winner!!

raspberryblush23 · 09/12/2016 00:11

Just little simple things: singing Christmas songs, the excitement of Santa, getting excited over the Christmas trees and lights in shops. Watching Christmas films.

My little one really understands this year and I love seeing how much she believes. She is singing all the songs they are teaching them at nursery and was desperate to hang the 'bauble' she made on the tree. It's funny as she has been pestering me for weeks now to get Rudolph a carrot as she worries he will have an empty tummy by the time we get here. Am enjoying the build up much more with a child

Sitting on my bed on Christmas morning opening up gifts to show to everyone, while all the adults sit and drink tea groggly.

UpOnDown · 09/12/2016 15:09

Definitely reading their letters to father christmas.

annieno1 · 09/12/2016 15:50

Telling me what Santa is bringing them during the month of January 😂

Italiangreyhound · 09/12/2016 16:20

Being able to justify spoiling the kids for one special season.

Lauzipop1 · 09/12/2016 19:59

I think it's just the excitement of the little things. I actually did cry last week when we put the tree up and youngest was just so excited and wanted to show everyone who came to the door our tree.

littleme96 · 09/12/2016 20:25

Mine really enjoy choosing little presents for each other. It might be something inexpensive, but I love how much thought they put into thinking of what the other person would like.

Walking home tonight in the dark for the first time this festive season, my four year old son was incredibly excited spotting Christmas lights and admiring Christmas trees in windows. It was very sweet, and we ended up singing Jingle Bells most of the way home - lovely.

throwingpebbles · 09/12/2016 21:27

My three year old learnt loads of Christmas songs for the nursery Christmas show, and today she was dancing round the supermarket and singing them so joyfully, so many elderly shoppers looked so delighted Smile

Also my boy had a hospital appointment for a chronic condition today, it's a long drive home but we went the "scenic route", spotting The best Christmas lights as we went, it was such a simple pleasure but they were so excited

Hopezibah · 09/12/2016 21:49

i love how my daughter (aged 4) keeps telling me how lucky it was that jesus was born at christmas otherwise if he didn't have his birthday on christmas day, there would be no christmas. She was also brilliant at picking her nose whilst dressed as an angel in her school play - those sorts of things remind me not to stress about Christmas!

Maiyakat · 09/12/2016 22:10

DD is so excited by Christmas lights, whether it is a big display in the shopping centre or a few strings of lights on the neighbour's fence.

IWasThere4Aug12 · 10/12/2016 05:52

Singing Christmas carols every opportunity DS gets- on the way to school/ whilst tidying room etc Think he's excited about the school concert

LisaGXoX · 10/12/2016 10:53

Seeing my kiddies faces light up is amazing and seeing them all happy and excited. I love hearing them singing christmas songs...practicing for their school concerts.

xenoyia6060 · 10/12/2016 19:13

Just the joy on their faces when we make cookies and put them out with some milk for santa on xmas eve. The innocence and pure happiness makes it magical for me.

KittyKat88 · 10/12/2016 22:55

If it weren't for my DDs (4 & 6) I'd be a total grinch! Just seeing their excitement at putting up the Christmas tree, then the fun of their daily advent calendar opening makes the 24 days leading up to Christmas an amazing journey. I'd also never book a panto if it wasn't for them - they have brought the fun and magic back for me!

Tapamino · 10/12/2016 22:57

Watching the children decorate the tree...excited to use every single mismatched ornament we've ever bought (and a mile of tinsel), while humming along to a Christmas CD!

123julie321 · 10/12/2016 23:56

How excited they get sending of their Christmas lists in the post- and how worried they are about making sure it gets all the way to Santa in the North Pole on time! x

strawberrisc · 11/12/2016 09:58

When you are a child the magic of Christmas is something that you can never really recapture as an adult. The closest you can get that tingly, magical feeling is watching your own children experience the same emotion. Posting cards in the school postbox, listening for sleighbells on Christmas Eve, sitting on Santa's lap in a grotto, watching them in a Nativity play while singing 'Little Donkey' (gets me every time!). It seems a controversial subject now but I am SO happy I was brought up to believe and I do the same with my own daughter. It's a magical feeling that really can't be matched.
