Simple lasagne for me! Love it with a nice salad. Yum.

Mozzarella and tomato salad, simple but delicious.

And bread with olive oil and vinegar.

Spaghetti with tuna, lemon and rocket.

Affogato

P I Z Z A with chilli oil, salad and Sicilian lemonade. Works for whole family (or just me...)

A lovely seafood risotto with a glass of prosecco.

I love pasta with a creamy minty sauce. Had it in a restaurant once as part of a 'tasting' menu - never would've picked it otherwise, but it was divine. Just really light and fresh, it had summer veg in it as well. With lots of parmesan on top. YUM :)

Spinach, artichoke, pine nut and pesto lasagne served with lots of crusty bread and a chilled bottle of Prosecco.

Eaten outside in the sunshine.

I really like fiorentina pizza. Yum.

Grilled pears and cheese, eaten at a well known 'Frog' restaurant on Lake Garda.
Happy happy memory.

Asparagus risotto

Another vote for carbonara.

I love antipasti sharing platters , juicy large olives and caprese salad.

Bruschetta with really ripe tomatoes, with a glass of Chianti. Hard to choose though!

Tiramisu, without a shadow of a doubt! That with pizza and wine is heaven.

Ripe red tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fresh basil leaves & a drizzle of olive oil. Heaven!!

I love brushetta. It's so simple and healthy but also so delicious.

I love Italian food though, and I think it works whatever the weather

Crusty bread and oils, meatballs and pasta and then gelato! 👌🏻 perfect

My all time favourite Italian meal was a Tuscan wild boar stew with red wine vinegar and dark chocolate.

For every day eating though, I swear by a Sicilian dish of pasta with tinned sardines, pine nuts, saffron and sultanas. Simple, delicious, healthy, cheap.

Just crispy bread dipped in very good quality olive oil. Not sure if that is a meal though...

I went to Rome for 3 days one hot summer and nothing (bar water) touched my lips except prosecco, ice cream and pizza. Pure bliss! I discovered white pizzas, delicious!

Oh, too many to mention, but my current favourite is orzo with sun drenched tomatoes, fresh basil, mozzarella and pesto. Washed down with an ice cold glass of verdicchio. And gelato to finish.

Yum!

Starter would be olives, Parma ham, pecorino and ciabatta.
Main course, chicken valdostana. It is chicken flattened and coated with something delicious then fried and it has mozzarella, ham and tomato paste on top and is grilled. With zucchini and rocket salad.
Desert either tiramisu or afogato.
Italian wine to drink

Can't go pasta bit a of spaghetti just dressed with fresh pesto - haha, my phone made a pun! (Groan!)
