The end of the school year is fast approaching, (or perhaps already here for some of you), and notonthehighstreet.com are keen to hear how your children show appreciation to their teachers at the end of the school year.

Here’s what notonthehighstreet.com have to say: “Whether you're overjoyed about the little one's grades or just want to say thanks for coping with a whole class of kids, we've hundreds of brilliant gift ideas that'll leave teacher smiling 'til next term”

Visit this page they have pulled together with ideas for teachers gifts and tell us which ones you think your child’s teacher would love to receive (and you’d love to give!) by leaving a comment below.

Teachers of Mumsnet, we know you might well say no gift is necessary but if your arm was twisted, we’d also love to know what your ideal end of year gift would be.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 notonthehighstreet.com voucher!

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

We usually just get chocolates, its lazy but consumable so it won;t clutter their house up.

ann28 · 20/07/2016 16:53

Some lovely jewellery from Accessorize or somewhere - looks really good, but not that expensive!

peanutmum111 · 21/07/2016 00:20

I tried to make it personal to the teacher (junior school age). As I'm short of money this year I did 'folded books', saying 'thank you'.
They were very well received and just cost me £1.

Bechoole · 21/07/2016 11:03

Listen and communicate with them nicely

BGurney1 · 21/07/2016 15:39

As a trainee teacher I know I'd love to receive anything on that list. Personally I really like the Amazing Teacher Apple Earrings, I can wear them knowing I'm good at what I'm doing!

rocketriffs · 21/07/2016 23:39

They'll design and make up their own thank you cards....that's if they like the teachers.

sjl19 · 22/07/2016 12:35

My son makes a card for his teachers

cheryl100 · 23/07/2016 13:18

I bought 'button' pictures for the teacher and 2 teaching assistants - all were personalised. My favourite was the teachers one which was a tree made from buttons and underneath it said 'thank you for helping me grow' :)

I recall always taking in a Chocolate Orange for my teachers at the end of the school year. When ds is school age I plan to buy a nice bottle of wine for his teacher & let him loose with the glitter glue etc to decorate the bottle before giving it to them.

cocochips · 24/07/2016 20:48

They always give a homemade card and a gift

pennystextiles · 24/07/2016 22:36

mumpetuk1 · 25/07/2016 21:14

We give them a thank you card, I think that is enough.

sweir1 · 25/07/2016 23:33

Mine made a home made card

stewaris · 26/07/2016 18:23

Depends on the teacher but my kids tend to club together with their friends and buy chocolates or flowers rather than individual presents from every parent.

Kangakate · 26/07/2016 18:30

I get them to make a card and a little present, this year we made bunting with their names on it to hang in class

piggypoo · 26/07/2016 20:01

We don't go overboard, as the school does not encourage this, previously, there had been accusations of favouritism, some parents, the rich ones, bringing in crates of Whisky or bottles of Champagne, so we just make a little card, and give that instead. :)

emmafifema78 · 26/07/2016 20:17

My son has always done this by making something like a card or drawing a picture, I think it makes it that little bit more special and ads that personal touch.

dirtypop · 26/07/2016 21:21

draw pictures for them

ikkle87 · 26/07/2016 21:29

my sons nursery don't allow gifts, we are sending in a home made card instead

PhilTB54 · 26/07/2016 21:43

MaryDunlop99 · 26/07/2016 21:51

My little ones usually make cakes - something that will make them smile, and also something they would eat...!

jamielmdjs · 26/07/2016 22:36

They asked to make cookies to take in for her as well as a homemade thank you card.
